Ezeli is one of the best rebounders in the game and also keeps getting better as a rim protector, which was quite clearly one of Portland’s biggest needs entering the offseason. Ezeli was second in the NBA in Nylon Calculus’ Rim Protection stat this past season and an incredible 4.32 points saved per 36 minutes.
Ezeli is a robot on offense when he has to create his own opportunities, but he does dive to the rim hard with agility for lob dunks and putbacks off misses.
The Warriors’ regular starting lineup with Ezeli in place of Andrew Bogut had a net rating of 30.2, which ranked sixth in the NBA. Golden State was 5.3 points per 100 possessions better on defense with Ezeli on the floor, which is comparable to how much better they were on that end of the floor with Andrew Bogut at 5.8.

Signed with Portland as a backup for onl2 2/14.7

Everyone knows we desperately need rebounding and rim protection, so it seems like he would have been great to get on one of Ainge's 1+1unguaranteed deals, even if we had to a little higher on the first year salary to get him to bite

I'm shocked how little he got. Thought he would have gotten closer to the 4/64 Mozgov got. Would have loved him at that price.
Is Biyombo still available?

Brown, Rozier and Mickey look like the could earn some minutes, but none have looked great in summer league (not saying that is a good way to judge). I don't think any of those guys are guaranteed contributors.
With 3 guards, 2 wings and 3 big men locked into the rotation. Quick list of guys I believe are available:
Jordan Hill, Terrence Jones, Ty Lawson, Tyler Hansbrough, Mario Chalmers, Brandon Bass, Tyler Zeller, Thomas Robinson, JR Smith and Josh Smith
What direction should we go if we need to add a player for depth?

Have you watched all of summer league? Rozier has been excellent and is most definitely in line to get some of ET's minutes. Brown and Mickey have not looked great, agreed.
Ready or not I hope Brown plays some small but consistent minutes. This is too high a pick to not make every effort to develop with some immediacy.

Damn.. Hope they do, that's a decent pick-up for Brooklyn.
Leonard's another guy who could be a year or two away from an MIP award..

I think you earn your minutes regardless of what pick you are. That sounds like Stevens philosophy as well. I love Rozier and he had one great first summer league game, but he's had a couple bad games. Not sure yet whether he's ready to be a full
time backup on a 50+ win team.

This is my point of contention with the Celtics. This is why I hated the hiring of Stevens. Aside form Horford, the only way the Cs will build a relevant contender is via the draft. That involves three things: accumulating draft picks, drafting well, and developing young talent. Hiring Big Name College Coach is an anathema to that philosophy. BNCC wants to hit the ground running, win now, and make a name for himself. He could care less about the long term view. He doesn't have the patience with developing players, and prefers to use proven veterans, who will not serve this team in the long term. So far, the Cs have two one-and-dones in the weak East. The East has improved in 2016-17. 50+ wins for the Cs, isn't something I would count on.
