"As you know, this project represents a $200 million-plus investment by the Magic and its partners that will create jobs and provide dining, hotel and entertainment options, and continue the revitalization of downtown Orlando and the Parramore neighborhood," he said, noting the complex is still in the design phase.

Last December, Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said team would begin work on the facility sometime this summer.

The proposed 7.82-acre complex, to be built on west Church Street, is designed to have a 250-room hotel with convention/meeting space, plus 64,000 square feet of retail space, 100,000 square feet of office space, 250 residential units and a parking garage. Those plans could change as the project gets closer to development.
