Sitting next to Gar Forman

Post#1 » by wonderboy2 » Wed Jul 13, 2016 2:55 am

So as I'm typing this I'm sitting right above Gar formen at NBA summer league.Feel free to lock but just a couple of nuggets. Sounds like he not happy with Paul Zisper. They are trying to do a 2 year fully guarantee deal and then 2 years non guarantee after that. Sounds like zipster agent is hard balling them. Also gar mentioned something about jerry thinking that the contracts being thrown out is stupid. He kept mentioning whiteheads from Brooklyn contract. Gar Foreman really like Zipster but seems really frustrated with his people. Won't mention anything more as I don't think I've should've been ease dropping into their conversation.

Mention more! And if not, tell him he's a fool and we all want him to quit.

Ask him if he realizes how close he was to being unemployed.

If Zippy's people are hardballing a 2+2 deal, what are they looking for?

I'd be curious to know the impression you got about the type of person he is.

Is he the hardheaded grump he's made out to be or is there a secret side to Gar we don't get to see?

Zipser has "people"?

Zipser is going to hardball an NBA team? Or what, the NBA goes on not caring who he is or where he plays?

lol I had no idea Zipser can demand anything for getting drafted by an NBA team.

As a late second rounder.

He should feel lucky for getting drafted at all. Prove that you actually belong and then you can make demands. Good lord.

The Grizzlies just handed out Deyonta Davis a big contract, and that might have made this more complicated for the Bulls, especially if Zipser really is regarded as a nice prospect around the league. I wouldn't criticize his agent though --- it's his job to squeeze every penny out of the Bulls that he can.

It's asking a guy a lot to pack up and move to another country so I could understand him wanting an extra year guaranteed to prove himself on what has been an annual playoff team(Before last year). Minutes are already hard enough to come by for rookies and that's pressure to immediately step in and perform that 2nd year. People around here still say last year was Doug's rookie year for all intent and purposes and he was lottery so imagine how a random Euro picked in the 2nd feels. He'll come over regardless, but doesn't hurt to posture a bit.

Bingo -- the agent is always going to be a pain in the arse in negotiations. Zipser wants to play in the NBA, he's not going to balk at an extra guaranteed year and not come to the NBA.

Just to answer some of you questions Gar Forman actually seem like a pretty nice guy. I'm not a front office basher but he does not seem the most knowledgeable about the cap. He was talking to a guy( I'm not sure who he is) and the guy constantly kept explaining to him details about 2 year deals. Gar foreman also kept calling this guy named Steve with glasses over and the he had to explained to him different things about non guaranteed deals. To be honest Gar actually seemed frustrated not knowing the little details about the contract details. He seemed very frustrated with Zipster because he said the bulls are giving him a fair deal with an opportunity to thrive. Also he was alittle confused on a deadline to get him in for a physical. He stated that he is trying to convince Zisper people to come in on Monday.

In to be honest Gar Forman sounds exactly the way he does when he talk to the media. I heard him mention that he has to talk to Jerry about every decision and he always tell him to not follow what everyone else is doing. Just because everybody else is giving out stupid contracts don't mean we have to. That was his exact words to the guy Gar was talking to. He also said that the bulls try to always give players fair deals and even deals over their market value. He mentioned that they even took care of Bairstow( not sure what he a talking about). Mentioned something about Grants contract. I was very surprised those two guys was talking so open like that while I was sitting there but I was basically the only one by them and people say I look like I'm 17. They also probably didn't know I was a bulls fan. There was a whole lot more stuff but I feel so guilty for being all in there convo. I'm a shy dude so I didn't ask or say anything. And besides Gar did not seem in the best of mood, that guy seemed thoroughly frustrated lol.
