I didn't see much of birdman last year (no one did, he only played 27 games, the bulk of which was for Memphis at a time when Memphis was unwatchable) , but his advanced numbers are surprisingly pretty damn solid. He has always had good chemistry with Lebron too. For the minimum, not terrible. I don't have any expectations though given he's pushing 40

Heads up:

Tonight 7pm eastern on ESPN 2... They are airing the "believeland" 30 for 30 documentary, presumably with the new ending that made its debut a week or two ago to reflect the Cavs title run. I believe this is the first time the new version has aired since the first time it aired a couple weeks ago. The initial "believeland" was aired on May 14th and obviously couldn't reflect the Cavs title. I caught the very end of the new version a couple weeks ago and it was very well done

I'd put money on Knicks Bulls. Heat have no stars anymore and isn't a big market.

Hawks @ Celtics 12pm (Playoff rematch/ Al Horford thingy)
Bulls @ Knicks 2:30pm ABC? (big markets, well known names)
Warriors @ Cavs 5pm ABC (rematch)
Thunder @ Spurs 8pm (yawn)
Blazers @ Clippers 10:30pm (Clippers slot, playoff rematch, should be good game)

Something like that.

Blazers/clippers came to my mind too. I think that's a solid bet

Bulls/Knicks obviously has market size and all the ex Bulls tie ins ( for that reason it's better in Chicago than msg ) , I get the appeal... but I'd rather have a Wade return game

Also could be Bulls/Cavs xmas as well and Warriors/Spurs

Christmas game is Warriors Cavs guaranteed.

I'm honestly in shock about how Lebron just won the Player Comparison Board vote for player of the year. Do you guys agree with this?

So there's a lot of buzz on the GB about ben simmons having better vision and understanding of the game as a pg than lebron. Thoughts?

Gotta see him against real competition first, but he seems to be making passes and creating openings for teammates in a way that Lebron doesn't quite do. He has none of the rest of Lebron's game though, and in particular I'm surprised at how poor of a finisher he is. He doesn't really seem to have a left hand, which is odd.

Yeah this. He's making a bunch of passes I'm not sure anyone in the league right now could make. Not necessarily better than Bron, but his style is definitely more creative on the move. It's still to be seen how effective he'll be as a playmaker since he will need scoring ability to be an elite playmaker, but right now he's definitely looking special in that regard.

Simmons looks to have great court vision and from the small amount of highlights I've seen of him he does remind me of lebron.

He could be ahead of lebron in terms of court vision at this age but that doesn't mean he is gonna reach the lofty standards lebron has reached as a passer.

To me his playoffs were more impressive than Currys regular season, so yeah he was the player of the year.

His play style reminds me more of a 6'10 Rubio than Lebron. He's a more creative passer than Lebron, the rest we'll have to judge when he's playing against better competition.

Can we be fairly confident that Mario Chalmers is the delly backup plan? Just makes too much sense not to happen. As an aside look how badly his 3p% has dropped off since LBJ left his life.

(2012) .388
(2013) .409
(2014) .385
-------- Lebron leaves
(2015) .294
(2016) .326

Not to over credit Lebron for this drop off, but it's undeniable how much easier life is on a guy like that feeding off LBJ. Hopefully if they land him he regains that form

It is a little awkward. Despite having a ridiculous regular season, it's hard to give it to Curry when he ultimately came up short and had a very underwhelming playoff performance

And LeBron anchored every aspect of the team in the playoffs while having an ATG finals.

Plus, Lebron had better impact stats than Curry and was already slightly ahead there after his end-of-RS pre-announced playoff-mode ridiculousness.
