Still looks like a playoff team to me.

Winslow should improve drastically. Dragic can handle the increased load. Richardson is perhaps already as good as Wade. And they still have whiteside. I think they should match for Tyler though otherwise it's too hard to get a replacement until bosh comes off the books

There's nothing curious about that statement. Wade was not effective during the regular season last year.

I'd rather have richardson right now than wade.

Wade was always a better playoff performer than regular season. As it stands right now we have no legit closers on this team. No one on this team can consistently create their own shot against set defenses like Wade. I think Richardson is our best all around guard right now, but I think TJ has the most potential. TJ is both the best overall shooter & off ball cutter on this team. TJ is also an underrated passer/playmaker, and he can go coast to coast like Dragic in transition. Just youtube TJ for those unfamiliar with his game. He can play the PnR as well as any playmaker on this team. His PnR game with Bird, Bosh and Winslow were really good.

Dragic can't get his own shot?

I really don't think you'll miss wade much at all. Deng on the other hand was a big loss

Against set defenses no he can't. Dragic is living off 2014.

Wade is the GOAT. He should've retired with 1 jersey.

Speaking of living off 2014... wade wasn't even an impact player dusing the regular season. This was a very balanced roster

It's ludicrous how low people are projecting yall to finish when the roster is still primed to make the playoffs

J-Rich good as a role player not as 1st, 2nd or 3rd option.

I see there is a new villain in the form of a Hornets fan trying to jinx our way to the lottery pick. gg

Lol, I mean it's possible you could sneak into the lottwry. But wade wasn't a good scorer anymore, he can't shoot 3s, he doesn't get to the line, he doesn't rebound well, his ast/to is not very good, and he's not longer a good defender

I find the $$$ thing perplexing as 2/$40 was a heinous overpay to begin with.

I have no idea how this team is going to go.

Lost a lot of talent, but the pieces remaining fit a lot better together now, more two way players getting minutes, and where we lost a lot of our players on the wings, the depth doesn't hurt too much because we had a bit of a logjam in mins and Tyler out to boot.

We got some low salary guys who arent spectacular, but help spacing too.

I look objectively at the teams moves and it does feel like a tank season, probably more important than the team composition is the team strategy.

With the way the team is setup on paper and the players we signed to a one year deal I can see us fighting to make the playoffs. In a way think of us like an Atlanta team light. We will win more games than we should in the regular season but if we get to the playoffs we will be exposed.

I'm suprised so many fellow heat fans are so down on this team. At least in the regular season. Richardson and Tyler Johnson getting more minutes this year and Dragic getting a higher usage will probably make us better on the perimeter than we were last year, and with Deng, it comes down to how much Winslow has fixed his own jumper. I think the possiblity of Winslow getting to be more of a creator on offense could open up his offensive game more, as he was more of a slasher coming out of college, but he couldn't do that with Wade always having the ball. We also added 3 point shooting which we didn't have last year until the very end of the season when Joe Johnson joined. And you saw what a difference that made here. Without even factoring in whether Bosh plays next year, I think we'll be in the mix out east, and if we are lucky with our health we could be about the same as we were last year, but progressing since we are young, rather than plateauing since we were old.

Yeah, I agree with this. Deng, Dragic and Whiteside were our best player in the 25-16 second half. Deng made himself a crap ton of money because of how good he played as a stretch 4 with him and dragic on the run. Hopefully, Winslow can excel in that role as rebounding wing pushing the ball after a miss and Derrick Williams can be a solid bench stretch 4. If so, dengs departure won't affect us like it seems it will rn. I think justise is gonna take a big step forward. Hope I'm right

Yeah, I think we're getting in. If Bosh is going to be healthy, we're probably going to be better than last year. I think the young guys and Hassan will improve. Getting major playoff minutes was a big deal for those guys.

People forget, Dragic was 3rd team all nba and lead a less talented phoenix team to 48 wins in a stacked western conference a couple years ago. I think he's ready to bust out again. He still looks like he can play at that level to me. He isnt a chump, man. its kinda hard to share a backcourt with D.Wade if you're not an off the ball pg like rio, pat beverley, and george hill.

Return to Miami Heat
