Word is that the Celtics may pivot to Noel or Okafor vs Griffin, especially if they can get Westbrook. Noel or Okafor would come cheaper than Griffin. And Philadelphia is motivated to move a guy.

Noel/Westbrook would be ideal as long as they manage to hold on to 2/3 of Crowder/Bradley/Thomas in the process.

Was meaning to ask you this---- if the home run of Blake/Russ happened, do you think the Clippers would look at a S&T'd Zeller as part of their return? Would get him a paycheck, them a backup center, and would allow Boston to add both guys without having nothing left.

That should have Griffin instead of Westbrook. I'll fix it.

I think they would have to look at Zeller just for salary matching. A big one year deal followed by non-guaranteed years. Like what Bogans got in the Pierce/KG trade.

If its Blake than I'd definitely want Noel and not Okafor. A big rotation of:

Horford/Noel
Blake/Horford/Jerebko

is pretty tasty.

I meant to say if they could get Westbrook, they would chase one of the PHI bigs since they would be cheaper then Griffin.

I think w/ Philly, Okafor/Embiid would be likely a better fit w/ Embiid being defensive focused?

Can you S&T a player and send players in the same trade?

Yes. The Nets did this with Bogans in the Pierce/KG trade.

Any teams rumored to have interest in back up point guards?

Kings need a lot of PG help, preferably a starter or a cheap backup.

Can we interest you in a Raul Neto or a Shelvin Mack?

Totally agree with your assessment.

But if I'm BOS, and I just traded for Griff and in worse case we find out, oh, this isn't a good fit, I'd be pretty depressed as a BOS fan of what surely will be a bounty they give only to have to sell him on the open market for 1/2 or 3/4 or worst worst case, he leaves for nothing cuz that's a possibility.

Yea, DJ isn't "sexy" superstar but for BOS, it fills a need and fit and somewhat of a "marquee" name in some respects AND they could possibly do it without giving up a Bradley/Crowder/IT4 and hold onto 2018 BK pick, 2019 MEM pick or 2019 LAC pick possibly.

Yea, I didn't really look at the BOS picks but sitting with this for a minute, here's what I got peculating:

Sign Jaelyn to his rookie deal for 5ish-mil I believe, so, this deal can't get done in 30 days now

BOS receives DJ

LAC receive Gay + Koufos + BOS sends back Clips 2019 pick and maybe a random 2nd

SAC receives Brown (to replace Gay) + Amir Johnson (salary filler) + Rozier (rumored they like him?) + 2018 BK pick unless SAC REALLY wants 2017 BK swap + random 2nds as filler if need be

Everyone gets their players they want for fit, value, I think works out for those involved AND BOS still retains their picks and that MEM pick.

The one thing I really have a problem with is the idea that Gay and Koufos could net them the #3 pick, johnson, Rozier and an unprotected BKN pick. That's just WAY too much for a guy expiring (Gay) and a backup C. I think Crowder should be worth considerably more than Gay on that bargain of a contract (5/35) and then the rest of it is just overkill.

I believe you are entirely correct on all accounts. All the best assets on LAC and Boston are out of Sac's league. At the very least, they need to get WCS in the conversation instead of Koufos. And frankly, I'd be willing to talk that over b/c Skal and Greek Freak's dad need time.

Very well played, sir.

I guess they´re willing to deal but they won´t dump Okafor or Noel. This is like most rumors, in the end nothing will happen. :nonono:

And btw, even if you overvalue all the Celtics assets there´s no way they could get Westbrook AND Okafor or Noel, ain´t gonna happen as well.

Rumor has it they will get Westbrook, Griffin, Cousins and Butler for four 2nd rounders and a vacuum cleaner.
You heard it here first.
