Foye was terrible with OKC. I would've preferred Kevin Martin but I'm guessing this is a locker room presence signing.

Lin/Whitehead
Bojan/LeVert/Foye
RHJ/Kilpatrick/Harris
Booker/CMC/Bennett
Lopez/Hamilton/Scola

Possibility of Foye starting over Bojan?

I wanted Randy Foye since his days with Denver. I was really surprised that he struggled so much in OKC. I'm hoping it just had to do with the ball dominance of Durant/Westbrook/Waiters.

If he returns back to his Denver level, I think we'll be thoroughly surprised.

No, I highly doubt that. A Lin/Foye starting backcourt is a bit too small since Jeremy would have to cover the SG and Foye (who's not a good defender) would probably get worked by most starting PGs.

I think Foye is best utilized as a backup 1/2 in scoring lineups. I'm looking forward to seeing him come in tandem alongside SKil and score in bunches.

I remember Foye killing us as a Clipper a few years ago. If he can go back to how he played in Denver this is a solid pickup. Good insurance policy. We now have a pretty deep roster of scrappy/competitive guys and athletic young guys. Not impossible to foresee a few of them playing above their heads. It sucks they aren't 24 year olds with big upside, but it's not totally impossible that Foye/Vasquez produce about as much as TJ/Crabbe this upcoming season.

Foye wasn't totally awful in OKC except if he was asked to play PG. Which was for some reason what they stuck him at a lot of the time, if you keep him at the 2 guard he's a half decent bench guy for the money.

Lin/Vaz
Bogs/Foye

I think that's how the guard/SF play will be tested out?

This is another one of those "high character guy" signing by Marks.

He will be here to show the kids how to work hard, be a pro and hopefully provide some competition.

I don't think he will get any PT in all honesty.

He will during the first half of the season. He's a useful spark plug. He will fall in and out of the rotation but I suspect he could get dealt around the deadline. A lot of these veterans will be looking to up their value and get dealt to contenders down the road.

I haven't watched Foye much in the last few years. So how bad is his defense? Are we talking Vasquez terrible?

The play here for Marks is to give these vets a chance to show they can have value for a contender and then come trade deadline get a pick or something out of them if they play good enough. Maybe a team making a push bites and we get an extra asset. Worse case scenario they just expire at the end of the season and we will have around 35m in cap space next summer which has less competition since most teams used up all of their money this summer, not to mention that the QUALITY of players in free agency is MUCH better than this summer. This summer was Durant, Conley and Horford basically. Next summer much better.

I know the Nets aren't attractive to top players in free agency but money talks and with less options we might get lucky.

I think they're going to play Bogs mainly at SF and then Foye/RHJ as an offense/defense combo at SG. Kilpatrick, LeVert, and Whitehead could obviously eat into minutes, but Foye gives them a proven veteran who can space the floor offensively and at least by the numbers isn't terrible defensively.

he was horrific last year my god. but another veteran guard can't hurt, he's also from newark. its really about developing these kids.

you'd better pray that Levert turns heads immediately though because if foye is getting 20 mins a night thats bad news.

Not a big fan of this signing. He is very erratic and not very efficient. I hope Skil and Whitehead turn out to be better than him and get more minutes down the road.

For the start of the season, teaming him up with Vasquez isn't bad tho.

How much is it? I hope it's somewhere around vet min.

Not a fan of this signing. We should have pitched a hard sell to Martin for 1 year, 10-12 million We desperately need scoring and Foye won't give us that. Ugh.

His game has fallen of a cliff. Not exactly a surprise for 33-year old undersized guard with questionable shooting ability. Probably signed more for his locker room presence.

Coach Kenny described how he wants the team to play and Sean Marks has done a good job of getting players without overspending. He got some vets to help the young players grow Foye as a combo guard is good for the team especially Whitehead.
