It was Prokhorov who dragged the "Lin vs Harden" garbage into this thread, perhaps in an attempt to troll the Lin fans. Beyond my one observation (right here) that Harden pads his stats a lot, I refuse to respond to the troll on this topic.

Because, as Lin fans we aren't "real" fans - just like as a Giants fans, all those Eli Manning fan boys from Ole Miss aren't real Giants fans. I know because I'm a Giants fan.

We're not as bad as Tebow fans, but give it a rest already. It's embarrassing. Let's hope Lin does well this year and let's hope the Nets do also. As a NY/NJ native, I hope doubly so.

I'd also like to point out that there's a difference between Lin haters and Lin Fan haters. As Lin fans if we put a better foot forward, Lin wouldn't be subject to such venom from people. Just like Tebow. If Tebow didn't have all his crazy fans, people wouldn't give him the light of day.

Actually I really don't know who starts this stupid comparison and what the earth of harden is related to Lin and nets here... If someone really likes harden they should follow rockets page instead of here.

Not sure what you mean, but some Lin fans will bash whoever is taking playing time away from Lin or impacting him in some way. Beverly,Harden, Kemba, etc. People love playing with stats, but people will still cherry pick until they find something that will serve their purpose. Then come the slew of excuses - bad system, bad coaching, never got the chance, etc. While legit reasons, you can apply them to almost every NBA player.

it's time for Lin fans to man/woman up and accept him for who he is. cheer for him all you want, but enough is enough.

i agree with you due to the absurdity of some of these "discussions" however this is a Lin thread. As long as this does not go on to the game thread or any other threads, you need to be accepting of most of these discussions. it is still basketball related and most importantly, Lin is a Net. like the harden/lin debate, we should be able to agree that Harden is a much better player than Lin however we should be able to discuss Harden's defense vs. Lin's defense without it turning into how great Harden is.

How about posting here for more then two weeks before you start trying to call regular Net fans out? If Lin flames out or gets hurt I doubt most of the people posting in here will still be on our site since most of you recently changed your logo's from the Hornets to the Nets.

he only invite a bet with a single guy? how come it become call (all? most?)regular Net fans out? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Prok has thousands of post. You didnt even get to 100 yet. Who's more likely to welsh???? And if it's a signature bet Prok's is worth way more then your's.

MrDollarBills wrote:This Harden vs. Lin argument is seriously reaching, its frankly embarrassing to read some of this stuff. Harden is a ball hog and a terrible defender yes but talent wise its not even close, he's a top tier talent who is currently on a hall of fame pace. His PER numbers and True shooting %'s are Elite level regardless of his flaws.

Exactly..I love Lin and wish him to have an All-Star year for the Nets(which is possible)..BUT Harden is clearly much more skillful and talented than Lin.

Even with Harden defensive flaws, what he bring you offensively is much greater than what Lin brings you defensively or offensively put together...What I'm saying is Harden is much more influential than Lin.

Now, to be fair to Lin, he hasn't really gotten a fair shake at starting for a "trusted coach..He's always been marginalized wherever he's gone...BUT if you look at these 2 players skillset and their ability, it is clear that Harden has better talent and skills.

Jeremy has his own flaws which is an average jump shot, specially from 3PT and is also turn-over prone...so it's not like he's a player with very few issues in his game.

Exactly...I think this is where Lin-fan should debate, specially against Prohkorov....Prokorov has latched on the "Harden vs Lin" debate to make Lin fan looked like fools...He clearly hates Lin and wants to make other Nets fan hate Lin fan by thinking all of them are dellusional

But this is the same guy who also believe Lin is no better or "slightly better" than Jack.

I believe Lin is better than Jarrett Jacks...Prohkorov doesn't think so.

If the moderator banned these Lin fan who won't stop comparing Lin to stars players like Lillard and Harden, this Prohkorov guy should also go for instigating such a debate..It is clear he wanted Rondo and hate the fact Nets chose Lin...so now, he comes on here to pick obscene fight with Lin fan.

Granted, Lin fan should stop comparing Lin to players who are all-stars.

Compare Lin to Teague, Deron Williams, Elfraid Payton, Carter-Williams, George Hill, D'Angelo, Schroeder, Mudiay..etc..you can make a decent case for Lin with these players.

All these players above are either on par with Lin or not much better...Compare Lin to them, Lin fan!..I'd even put the current Derrick Rose on that list..and many more.

Lin only has to play like a top 10 PG with the Nets..He doesn't have to be top 5.

The safest bet for Lin's stats next season is TO, easily over 3.5.

Lin's issue is his footwork. His handles are fine, but his footwork is lousy... This is why he will turn over a lot when there is pressure...he can blow by you at easy, obove average crossover, but is lack of in and out, behind the back dribbles...just not that co-ordinated, u rarely see lin dancing around with the ball...

8 pages in and yall are STILL talking about Harden vs Lin??????!!!!!!!!!?
On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.

Enough with the Lin vs. Harden (or any other star) comparisons. The last Lin thread was locked due to derailment and this one will be too if people can't stay on topic.

As Rich said intimated in the OP, those who cannot talk about Lin without resorting to bashing other posters will be dealt with.

This goes for those who support, dislike, or attempt to instigate/bait others into a discussion about Lin.

Stop derailing the thread and bringing up topics that aren't relevant or worthy of discussion.

Anyways, :crowded: ....... so even tho we didn't get sharpshooters TJ and Crabbe, Marks has signed some shooters.

That should help spread the floor for the Brook-Lin Connection.

Vasquez, Foye, Scola, Booker, Hamilton can all shoot.

Young guys like Whitehead, Kilpatrick, LeVert, CMC are all good shooters.

Bogs of course

Let's hope Lopez increase his range, Bennett gets his touch back and RHJ develops a J!

Lin posts 20/6

Nets win 20-26 games with TJ/Crabbe

Since you are so negative - would you mind a friendly bet - anywhere between USD 100 - 1000.
My call that Nets will win more than 26 games, regardless whomever they can get.

Can we stop here? :meditate:

Basically it's only between swijayas & Prok. Prok said Nets won't win more than 26 games, but swijayas doesn't agree. For more fun, offer a bet which donate to Nets forum $100 if who is wrong. But Prok doesn't want to bet. So that's it. Just move on! :peace:

Question, does anyone know what the bonuses or incentives in Lin's contract involve? Points, assists, games started, attendence figures? Kinda curious to see what metrics theyre gonna use for that.

post amount = qualification to talk = more worthy? dont even want to talk about how wrong it is.

You missed the point. You make all of these brass predictions and they dont pan out then you are very likely to not post.

Prok has established his posting history for quite some time. He is going to post regardless.

The whole point of a sig bet is the shame involved. You are very likely a fair weather poster. Prok has nothing to gain if he wins.

dude, seriously, are you replying to the right person?

There are incentives in his contract? I that that was for Crabbe's contract.

I feel sick of discussing abt Haren and lets back to topic. Things get worse for nets as TJones got signed. Nets roster won't get much chance. Even Lin was replaced by rondo or some mid level pg it's not much different.

Is Nets GM going to sign L.Stephenance?

Multi-year RAPM:
O: 0.01/ D: 0.89/ T: 0.91

Single-year RAPM:
O: -0.76/ D: 0.92/ T: 0.16

I've always supported multi-year RAPM over single-year but to each his own.

I don't see where the resistance is in this exercise to strengthen the hammys?

looks more like some kind of stretch exercise.
