Ginobili got paid, but the interesting part if Philadelphia's role. The second link is a video of a Wojnarowski report. In it he says San Antonio's initial offer for Manu was $3 million over one year. But Philadelphia got involved and offered him a 2-year deal with $17 million guaranteed in the first year. He says the Spurs weren't going to let him end his career anywhere else, but the 76ers making them go that high is what forced their hand in letting Marjanovic go. That $3 million figure was less than Manu's cap hold so there were a couple of fairly simple ways the Spurs could have opened up the extra $4.1 million in room needed (Boban already had a $1.5 million cap hold for them) to match the offer sheet.

Thank you Philadelphia!

I'm honestly not sure the Spurs would have matched even if they reasonably could. They don't typically overpay for bench guys...They are good at finding good, cheap talent and developing them.

Spurs were always gonna keep Manu if he was gonna play another season.

The $3 mil wasn't a lowball offer either - he's not worth more at this point

Philly getting him a raise is nice politics by Colangelo though - Manu's agent will be happy.

Philly NEED to repair their relationships with agents and players...maybe Manu wasa pawn in the process

In case there are any Spencer Dinwiddie fans out there who would appreciate an update on his situation:

i am disappointed the timing never worked out for him, and i really think if he deserved playing time , he could have shown it in practice. I do think he'll eventually be a starter in this league if he can sustain a consistent jump shot.

I think ultimately his ceiling is probably RJ so i am okay with the trade

His ceiling is RJ? WTF? RJ was damn near an All Star last season.

Dinwiddie would have to get passed around at coach's conventions like a sex toy to even get that close to being picked

Maybe Shaun Livingston is his ceiling? I have no idea what happened to Spencer's supposed 3 point ability that he showed in college.

Maybe the ACL tear really did mess him up.

That's what puzzles you about that post?

I'm puzzled that he's "okay" with giving up an asset he believes has RJ potential for a guy we already cut!

Not sure whether it was the injury or something else, but Dinwiddie simply didn't look like an NBA player most of the time last year. We all had hopes we'd gotten a steal in the second round last year, but it didn't work out that way. It happens.

Spencer Dinwiddies upside is Reggie Jackson? I am just going to call that optimism. He needs to join a D-League team un-affiliated and just play. Don't think, just play. I think he has a spot in the NBA, but he needs to improve his shot and get his confidence back.

Bucks to re-sign Miles Plumlee to 4-year, $52 million deal

Anyone still think Leuer is overpaid?

There was a point where I was shocked he got that much, then a couple weeks into the offseason and I think SVG is smart again. Its like he knew how bad some of these contracts would get and just identified two guys (ish and jon) that he really wanted. Philly helped set us up with Boban by driving Manus number up.

Yeah what's Milwaukee thinking here? Is Monroe on his way out?

Milwaukee has been trying to trade Monroe since their season ended. Lots of guys have been reporting that. Still doesn't make the Plumlee deal alright though. He's not good. Henson is hurt all the time as well... if Kidd plays him at all. I like the rest of their team but center is a mess.

The Bucks are just a stupid organization period.

This is the same team that thinks Parker is some kind of amazing talent. They should have traded him when his value was way overblown.

Plumlee, who can't shoot free throws, can't block shots, can't shoot the three, doesn't have a post game, just got paid more then Leuer who can do everything I just stated.

They traded Knight who would have fit perfectly there, and also just added delly when they are supposedly running the greek full-time as the floor general.

If I'm a Bucks fan I'm just pulling my hair out.

Plumlee at 52 mil just makes no sense lol, who else was going to offer him a contract anywhere close to that? Does anyone else even have enough capspace for a contract like that? Wtf are the bucks doing? Even if they move Monroe its still a terrible contract. The Jon Leuer 4 year 42 mil looks so good now.

It's not that bad but I know Aron Baynes and his agent must be licking their chops. He should a least get 12 mil a year.
