I feel terrible about Nance but it could have been worse.

Overall a terrible second half, but I'm not terribly alarmed.

Yes we saw some regression from D'Lo.
We also saw terrible D b everyone in the second half.

But if you think about it, these are things that can be worked on, and corrected.

I'm not trying to make excuses for D'Lo at all. I think he played terrible basketball.
At the same time, we're looking for growth, and not brilliance every time out.

He wants to learn. He wants to be coached.
And this coaching staff will put this game and loss to good use.

I put this loss for Russell because he tried too much hero ball in the second half. Even a rookie like Ingram knows when shots are not falling, take it strong to the hoop or dish it out. Second is to the coach Mermuys...you need to stop a run by an opposing team....you needed to remind the team how they should have played like in the first half. You had 5 minutes to do it and let the game slip away.

Whatever don't care about the loss, I'm more pissed about Larry Nance getting injured. I mean a reality check is good for these young bucks but would of been nice without a Nance injury...

I hope he's back to 100% before the start of the season...

D'Angelo is a shooting guard. I don't know why the Lakers are trying to force him to play point guard. He said himself that he has never play point guard before. There has to be a reason why no one has allow him to play point guard before. It scares me when he has the ball in his hands. He doesn't make good decisions. He is turnover prone. More turnovers that assist in this years summer league thus far. I never know which team he is going to pass the ball to. His ball handling is very weak for a point guard.

The Lakers need to stop trying to convert a shooting guard into a point guard. Others have tried it before an failed miserably. It's a difficult transition.

You saw him play tonight. He played SG. There you go.

I have no belief in my mind that somehow you know the difference of one or the other. Or that somehow you have some insight i don't. I played PG all my life... the kid is a PG.
I guess you know more than Mitch Kupchak and Luke Walton. They have both said that they don't know if D'Angelo is a point guard.

Terrible second half, I have to put a lot of that on coaching. No time outs.. Offense was terrible and of course our defense looked like last year.

Yes DAngelo didn't have a good game, but our sets and line ups at times were pretty terrible. Wilson and Brown in in the 4th? Why wasn't Brown guarding Jordan? We all know Brown is the best defender on the team.

Like I said, I think some of the coaching decisions really screwed us over.

Russell has looked decent at times during this Summer League. Most of it was with little defensive pressure or in the open court. When it's a set and/or someone is up on him he seems to have some real issues.

His mental approach is what seems to be the biggest problem. He was posing and barking in the first quarter and completely falling apart mentally when the game slipped away. This is what should scare us the most. This isn't that fixable. A ton of guys littering the league with much better athleticism and games than him with the same mental approach.
