Super! We're up to 7. Hopefully we can at least get 3 more for an even 10.

Re: 2016 Scavenger Hunt Draft (sign-up 4 open spots left)
quick question about filters. does this category allow 50 and 10 or does it have to be 51 games played, 9 games started?
" playing more than 50 games, but starting less than 10 during that season."
no "at leasts" included in the question so I'm wondering./

also a heads up to Fats - bk-ref doesn't have data on games started until 79-80. I would say that the onus is on the player selecting someone from 79-80 or before, if he wants to use the Championship Bench Player category. There certainly could be team brochures or something like that out there for data on games started.

Sorry, that should read "At least 50 games played, 10 or less games started. I'll fix now.

Good catch. We'll just make that particular category specific to 1980+ (and that can apply to any other categories where they don't have the data back too far.)

*deletes Fred Brown from Excel document as there is some possibility of finding evidence for him as a bench player.

This will be a bit tougher to build a super-duper team compared to past years. In the previous draft we allowed people to select a player who fit a category, then pick any year for that player. This year we are making everyone use the player only for years they are eligible for a category. So you may have Olajuown, but the Toronto Raptors version. This way we don't have teams of 12 super stars. Instead you may have 5 super stars and a handful of elite bench guys.

Hey if you guys need one still... I'm down... Only thing is my job doesn't really allow me much time to be on the board between 9-5 during the week. Stole this idea from the board and at my last job we ran one of these every 2 weeks or so haha

Sounds good, not a problem. -Ian- and Diop are on the other side of the world and Lamar is halfway. We'll make it work with all the all odd times people are online. We've got all summer to make picks.

two questions - I assume the two years of the Buffalo Braves also qualify, right? and where is the cut-off point? does the 78-79 season mark the end of the 70s or is it the 79-80 season?

one more person would give us an even 10. I'd be OK with starting the draft with 10 people.

No Buffalo, only San Diego
Eligible years for San Diego 78-79 to 83-84
Eligible years for Kansas City 76-77 to 84-85

What would be the ideal goal of when to start the drafting? Trying to figure out when to have my draft board ready. Hopefully I'm more Sam Presti than Rich Cho.

Hopefully within the next week. If if makes anyone feel better, I have not even started to make my spreadsheet yet. As soon as we get to 10 people we I'll set the draft order and set a time to start, probably 3 days after. If we don't get a 10th person in the next 3 days we'll go ahead with 9 people, or I will find 1 more from the T&T board. Either way, I won't let it drag on more than 3 more days, so starting late next week at the latest, as early as Tuesday.
