Can we trade Dragic for Saric? Would be nice.

If we owned our first rounders, I would agree with you, but outside of this season, our firsts become due to Phoenix for the Dragic trade. You can't go on a full scale rebuild when you don't own your firsts.

The best course of action is to try to be as competitive as possible to attract and sell a FA on being the missing piece to a hyper competitive (and young) team.

If we could get our 1sts back, I'd agree with you.

We own 3 of our next 4 1sts....

We traded a 2017 protected 1st, a 2019 unprotected first and a 2021 first.

A rebuild isn't a one year thing. Cleveland, with LeBron as the #1 overall pick, didn't make the playoffs until 2006. You can't full on rebuild with 3 firsts owed.

So then what is the logic in letting Wade walk if we are not rebuilding?

Dragic has little value to lottery teams. No team looks at him as the missing part. Dragic true value is towards a playoff team but that means a draft pic in the 14+ range. I could see the Mavs or the Rockets as trading partners but they wont trade any pick without heavy protection either.

This is incorrect. We own our 2017 1st no matter what. The Suns will be getting two picks from us...either 2018/2019 and 2021.

Nerles Noel is a very interesting prospect we should be considering for several reasons. With his combination of length, lateral quickness, and rim protection a frontcourt of Winslow, Noel, and Hassan would be dominant defensively for the next 5 years. Noel is the ideal defensively at the 4 because he can guard wings, scramble and rotate back to protect the rim.. similarly to what Draymond Green can do.

The obvious downside is the offensive side of the ball, where I'd argue at age 22 there's plenty of time for him to stretch his range. Something I'm almost certain he's already started to work on this offseason. If that trade is on the table, I say you take it and run committing to the idea that you mold him into a 4. This risk is minimal because you're assuring ELITE defense with youth on your side that he will get there on the offensive end. Look at the young developing core...

TJ/Weber
Jrich/Mcgruder
Winslow
Noel
Hassan/

best defense in the league. And assuming we dump Mcroberts, and get Bosh of the books... that's a little under 60 million in cap room for 2017 and add a potential top 5 pick to that? That's how you rebuild on the fly. Attractive to free agents and homegrown.

That really depends on the situation. When it comes to the Sixers glut at the center position, they may be willing to trade one of those disgruntled guys for a good asset. Dragic isn't some aging star on a bad contract. He's one of the best starting guard contracts in the league for the next 4 years. That's really good value and he doesn't move the needle for them into playoff contention anyways. Also who's to say they're not done tanking for the #1 pick. Colangelo got his potential franchise piece in Simmons.. they might want to start winning a few games

Noel is a center not a PF, we just gave a center 98 million.

ONly works if a third team is involved to reroute Noel

Noel defensively can be a 4 . He can defend guards on switches and is versatile all over the court on that side. At 22 years old where he's shown flashes of developing a jumper I think it's too early to pigeonhole him strictly as a C.
The Thunder got away with playing Adams at the PF and and Kanter at C with a lot of sucess considering the very limited spacing. But it worked because Adams was able to guard the perimeter and switch onto Curry and Klay in a highly effective manner. There's 2 sides to the ball when determining a players position and I'm just pointing out that if Noel develops his jumper he could grow to be an ideal 4 in the current style.

Granted it's an if but he's still very young and far from polished.

I think Philly is trying to get out of the tank mentality now that the NBA pushed out Hinkie and got Colangelo in there. I think I would be interested more in Saric than Okafor or Noel. Before the appeal of Okafor and Noel to me were as younger and cheaper Whiteside replacements if he walked. Saric is a baller but he seems to play the same position as Ben Simmons. I think Philly would have alot of interest in Dragic.

I think some of you are trying to talk yourselves into some weird trades. Philly just landed the next great point forward, who looks better than lebron AT PASSING THE BALL (gotta be careful with the "better than Bron" line, lmao) so far in summer league. Why would Philly want a high usage guard like Dragic? They need a combo guard at point and a bunch of snipers.

Dragic is pretty much a combo guard that doesn't have that high usage compared to guys like Wade and Bosh

That's true. He's not talented enough to command the ball as much as Wade and Bosh. His off ball game is very weak. That's not what Philly would need there from dragic.

Oh fml, I just looked up Dragic's best usage percentage, it's 24.5% that one year in phx. Ohhhh man, this is about to be a super tank if Bosh is out.

But to the point, Philly would have greater use from Isaiah Thomas (or any scoring combo guard) with Simmons rather than Dragic. Actually, Boston could use Dragic more than Philly.

Kyrie also comes to mind as a good fit with simmons.

The guys comparing Simmons to LeBron really need to go back and watch what LeBron James looked like in summer league. I'll clue everyone in LeBron James was lightyears ahead

Maybe not now but with Wade out, Dragic will be able to run the team his way, & his stats should go up. & if so the by Feb there should be a few teams interested in him, specially if their PG goes down for any reason. Then you sell high.

My wish would be to trade Dragic, & Bob to Philly for their 1st this year. & somehow trade Bosh to Sac/Phi/or Hou for their pick this year. It would be so nice to have 3 2017 lotto picks to stack up this team with rookie contracts, & then Pat can do his thing in free agency.

Obviously i know thats a long shot but thats my wish.
