In other news Quincy Acy joins Seth Curry in Dallas. I know someone is mad.

Good for Acy, and Dallas, loved his energy when he was out there, but its just a numbers game and for his position we have too many guys.

Makes me wonder if there is a close trade where we send out like 3 guys for 1 in return.

Possibly or couldn't he be just a camp signee? I believe you can go over the 15 man roster for signing training camp invites but a week or 2 before opening night you have to be down to 15.

They sure as hell better produce big time for the approximate $11 million a year more we're paying them compared to Acy & Curry. Plus Acy & Curry were fan favs.

It's true. We are riding without seat belts with Vlade. Still don't know if this FO is par. Time will tell

I have no idea what this waiver claim was other than a random piece for a larger deal. I will hold my judgement until I see the full picture.

I'm over needing a deeper reasoning behind every move. I take it someone on the coaching staff or FO sees some potential and I doubt it is some signal of something major to come.

I'm seeing a $874,636 contract, 75k guarantee. So maybe. Not sure on full guarantee.

Patterson's contract isn't fully guaranteed until after training camp so he's basically a free look for us.

Ok, they should break it down better in press releases then, like say 75k to bring him to camp.

I'll admit I had to research this guy.

He's actually a good prospect. 2nd round pick by the Bucks in 2014 went #48. Jordan Clarkson was drafted two picks before.

Patterson can shoot the 3 and pass the ball very well. Throws lobs one handed with either hand. Dropped a dime from half court. I even saw a few flashy passes. Looks like a smart player. Most of his run came in the D-league. Played for ATL summer league team in 2015.

He's 6'5 or 6'6, 226lbs.

Honestly he looks like a better player than McLemore, just no where near as athletic

I'm also surprised it's taking this long to trade McLemore.

I'm not, I don't think they will give him away, and without someone coming back that may be a great fit for a couple of years, what's the point?

But I really do expect to hear we get Douglas within a couple of days.

I think the problem is that his trade value is in the Jimmer or Hickson range.

Patterson is good. He was a decent prospect for the Hawks, but he had to be cut not because of talent, but because the Hawks had 2 first round picks this year. Lamar was a prospect that Hawks fans have warm feelings about. He didn't get stable minutes, but most Hawks fans thought he could become a good rotation bench player the older he gets.

This might surprise you, but Patterson is like a very very poor man's Andre Miller.

Lamar is 6'5, with point guard skills. He was the Hawks 3rd string PG from time to time.

Like Andre Miller, Patterson is not that athletic, he has a good IQ and PG skills, and his 3pt shooting is average. His skills worked well in the Hawks system. Lamar is 230lbs, but he is not really cut, he is alittle chunky, but his defense is not a real liability.

Lamar's numbers are not good, but he is still very very young, and Hawks fans still thinks he could be decent bench player if he keeps developing

I don't actively use my Twitter account but I might have to dust off the cobwebs and start blasting tweets to both Vlade and Toney that this is a move that has to happen. With the possibility of Collison being suspended and no other PG's on the roster Douglas would be the opening night starter. Even when Collison returns he'd be the back up and get lots of playing time. The move makes too much sense. Anyone with Twitter start tweeting them both please.

I was watching some YouTube videos on him. Found this one...

I've been thinking more about the PG situation and really, they've picked up a bunch of shooting guards that are more comfortable running point. That could be a good thing if they plan on switching a lot too because they've picked up a few guards with decent size and length in the process. Right now, I can see Afflalo being a secondary/primary ball handler like he was in Orlando when he and Oladipo played side by side and shared PG duties.

Could Lamar Patterson be one of the most skilled passers on the team?

Imagine it's mid season and we are running Patterson (6'5) and I.Cousins (6'5) as primary ball handlers. Looking at the roster now we have only one player (Collison 6'0 with lifts in his shoes) under 6'5. LENGTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this is the route we are going and we become a top ten defensive team.

Those full court passes sure are pretty, but oh boy does he look slow as molasses.
