The bit about the big 3 forcing his hand on those fifth years and the draft picks was fantastic. Stupid in the first place and I'm glad to know that it was a player idea and not a Riley idea. Players are not GMs. I'm glad we won the titles but cheap talent could have been had, instead of trying to nab over the hill vets.

i disagree with ethan i believe that this was a clash of egos and nothing more and maybe that pat used this opportunity to get rid of an old dwade which production was clearly on the decline.the rest is b.s,i believe.b/c why wade would be in the Mediterranean during an important time for him and his franchise.why pat didnt reached him via skype or teleconferencing?like i said this was a clash of egos that served itself to pat and the heat in getting rid of an older player

You can call it a clash of egos, but it came out of Pat mouth and Haslem mouth. This could of been easily avoided.

Any talk of Beno-Bibble? Does no exception, mean no Beno.

I'm scared, Bish. If Beno isn't re-signed I'll go to my grave with regret over letting op reign over this offseason.

You could hear in Pat voice that it really did bother him that the big 3 opted out of their contracts.

For all the Beasley fans, Pat confirmed trading Beasley was only because of the demands of the big 3 for Mike Miller.

Nice to hear about Winslow starting, I'd like to be assured that Ellington doesn't play but him and Bibble will probably be tank commanders

I absolutely do not think losing Wade was part of the plan at all.

Im very curious what deal did Luol Deng agree to with the Heat. Pat stated Deng was gonna stay but called Pat and told him about the Lakers offer was too big to turn down.

I understand it was the agent lol. Sorry didnt think that detail made that much of the difference.

Hmmm... You may be right. Let me check if Wade is on the roster.

No. He's not. There are guys like Luke Babbitt and Derek Williams instead using Wade's money now. Tyler Johnson is going to make $18.5M the year that Wade wanted his 3rd year.

Wade wasn't supposed to stay. Pat should have owned up to it rather than be so cowardly.

Pat stated that Tyler Johnson was willing to take a different deal from the Heat but when the Heat talked to him, TJ said he could not go back on his word with Brooklyn. Pat went in depth and made himself look bad, so I do not see how you can say he is being cowardly.

Tyler's contract *now* doesn't enter into it. If we had the money for him in 3 years, then it was there for Wade too. All Wade wanted originally was a 3rd year. We could have given it to him, the same way that we are going to give it to Tyler in 3 years. We also had the choice of stretching McRoberts.

What I'm saying is cowardly is trying to frame this as some misunderstanding, inability to speak to Wade etc (when he hasn't actually even spoken to him yet - composing an email, oh really, give me a break!) It's a bitch move. If you are going to do something, just own it already. Don't be a wuss about it. It's disrespectful to everyone.

For whatever reason they made the decision that Wade was out. They made a tough choice. Maybe it was brinksmanship that went awry, but the circumstances don't matter. If he was in, he was in. He wasn't in anymore.

He had to play the hand he was dealt. Too bad it was forced upon him. Those trades for those useless fifth years.....still bugs me. If we didn't plan on using those picks, we could have at least traded them for picks several years later at a minimum.

Yeah, that was a terrible part of the deal and a bit of a set up in my opinion. We will be better anyhow. We're down but we'll be back.
