Not giving up Crowder is preferred, but they will. I clearly said that in the post. It depends on what LAC wants. Do they want picks and young talent or do they want a win now piece.

Not gonna lie, that does seem very off. And no idea why OKC would want Smart at this point either.

I'm sure that's what BOS is thinking, but that can't be the best package available for either Griffin or Westbrook.

FWIW, I got none of this from Boston people. I have no sources with the Celtics.

Not to really make this sound like I'm calling you out, bc I hope you know I don't mean anything that way, but OKC isn't in Vegas and I don't think the Clips are either. So it really has to be coming way second hand.

Ah, nevermind then. Still seems off to me for another reason, but I'll leave it there.

Either a bunch of FOs have ridiculously loose lips, or the BOS hub is once again talking up a trade that may or may not happen. Given the lack of perceived value in these trades and Ainge's history of PR games, hard not to be skeptical.

If LAC or OKC is trading their guys, they should be running a full auction and getting the best value they can. I doubt those BOS trades are it.

Why LAC would do this:

Doc loved the way they played with Mbah a Moute at PF and going small. He knows he can't beat GSW and they have no future assets coming either. Paul can walk in a year. They need to cover themselves.

Why OKC would do this:

They don't want to lose another superstar with nothing to show for it. That is basically it.

Why the packages aren't mind blowing from Boston:

Without assurances that the guys would stay in Boston, they aren't giving up a bunch of prime pieces for what could be a rental.

Ok so a few things to address:

I'm not in Las Vegas anymore but text and DMs still work here in FL just fine.

Also, I have NO sources with Boston. Everything I am getting is coming from other places. But I trust all of them. I just don't have enough confirmation to take it public.

The Griffin trade is far more likely than the Westbrook trade, but Boston is attempting to go big and put together a team that can compete with Cleveland and Golden State.

Sorry for being short and being a dick. I apologize for that. I have a million things I'm trying to juggle with this. My bad. You've been nothing but good to me here, so there is no reason for me to do that.

I think the packages are pretty reasonable. The main thing I don't understand is why the Thunder would want Smart after getting Oladipo. Maybe keep the packages as they are but send Crowder to LAC, Brown to OKC, and keep Smart in Boston?

For the OKC fans - there is no good outcome from losing Durant and Westbrook with Durant leaving for nothing. But I gotta say a lineup of Payne, Oladipo, Brown, Sabonis, and Adams with what I'm assuming is the BKN 17 pick (I think 18 would go to LAC) waiting in the wings is a pretty darn impressive one year rebuild.

If you accept that he can't risk losing him for nothing, who else is going to/able to offer more? Westbrook's market is also suppressed given the prevalent belief he's bolting for LA.

Who is getting the 2017 pick? There is a big gap between the 2017 Brooklyn pick and the 2018 Brooklyn pick. I don't see how the 2018 pick is the heart of a deal for Griffin or Westbrook.

It's not. That 2018 pick is 2 years away with a deep FA class in the middle. BKN can mediocre there way to the 11th/12th pick or so. If Griffin is going to the C's, that 2018 pick must be paired with Brown and another strongish piece (like Bradley) and thats a trade i actually like for both teams.

Amir+Brown+Bradley+BKN 18 for Griffin+filler

Boston could probably only get Westbrook and Griffin if they gutted all their assets. And they would be absolutely stupid not to imo, even without assurances.

Also nobody wants 100 pennies for 1$, what the hell am I supposed to do with all of those pennies? you got to offer up all of those quarters.

That at least makes sense for LAC.
OKC should ask for Smart, Crowder, BKN 17, filler for Westbrook.

These two trades are what it takes imo

Being in FL, do you hear anything about the Heat?

We had a couple of insiders on the board, but they have gotten less & less active since the huge FA in 2010 (understandably so).
