Predict the # of Wins next year (July Edition)

Post#1 » by moonpie » Sun Jul 17, 2016 5:34 am

Obviously the summer isn't over yet, but most of the dust has settled at this point and we've seen a handful of SL games. What do you project our win total to be for the 2016-17 season at this point?

I think they will win half of their home game and about 10-12 road games.
I put the win total at 31 or 32

Considering our so called coach last season employed a kamikaze strategy for all close and winnable games, my adjusted number for last year's won games (same roster under a non-tanking coach) would've been 30. I think we added 15 another games with Luke and in the draft and in FA signings. 45 wins. Looking forward to revisiting this at the end of the season. Bring on the cynicism.

This seems reasonable. Youth is always going to be unpredictable. Deng, Calderon, Williams, Clarkson and Mozgov will be the only "vets" out there.

25 or so should be the upper end of the range. If we get injuries or the youth isn't what we all think they are we could be below 20 again.

If everything gels and even the wildest expectations are met we could get 35.

36 wins, fighting for the last playoff spot until the very last week of regular season

I dont see how we fight for a playoff seed when almost every bottom western conference team either improved, were already better than the Lakers, or will be getting all-star caliber players back from injury. I think next year will be the year you'll see real win total improvements

Just look at the bottom
Suns - Bledsoe will be back, Knight will be back.
T-Wolves - not much needed to be said, by far the best young core and should be much better next year
Pelicans, one of the teams that will prob still not be great but if AD can stay healthy they should be better.
Nuggets - Trash but still better than the Lakers as currently constructed
Kings - they'll still be awful but they have Cousins, i actually think they'll be worse this year than last tho.

idk if we'll be able to retain our pick but it wouldnt surprise me too much if we were a bottom 3 team again. 76ers and Nets are the only teams i think worse than the Lakers right now, and who knows whats going to happen with the 6ers, they have a million centers and need to make a decent trade.

I picked 26-30 wins (gonna be optimistic now and say 30), anything below 25 would be a disappointment.

I am with you ArC_man. The team should improve from 17 with the core of the team back and after a year of seasoning. That alone should get us to 27. Anything below that would be disappointing. We should improve to low 30s which is semi-optimistic view of the team. Anything more than 33 would be gravy.

31-35. That would be an excellent season in my books.

Add 1 more solid player in 2017 and another year of seasoning and we should get to 41+ wins which would mean 8th seed and back into the playoffs.
