Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I can blame Kenley but trying to make one run stand up over the course of 9 innings is a dangerous game.

We got what we paid for.
Thank God Casilla is a jackass.

Gotta admit. I've held out long enough this year.

I would not mind if that was the last we saw of Hatcher in a Dodger uniform.

You made your million. Go enjoy life with your wife and new born in North Carolina. No hard feelings but you can't pitch here anymore.

Dave Roberts is an idiot for thinking this is the type of 7-1 game where you insert him in.

this was supposed to be a mini rebuild season anyway, I ain't mad. but look on the brighter side. we are only 4.5 games behind the Gnats and we lead the wildcard with comfort. we still have Maeda-Kazmir-McCarthy-Norris while our bullpen leads the NL in ERA. of course not having Kershaw, Ryu, and Wood hurts but looking at teams like the Royals, Pirates and Orioles in the last couple of seasons, i don't think we are out of it by that much, as long as we have the defense we have shown to possess all season.

I havent been willing to concede that all year and I don't believe that this has been a mini-rebuild season.

I don't think Utley or Howie are here just to hold places for our developing pieces. I think this team is here to win and the front office just went about building the team by fixing the depth first and hopefully making an elite splash second.

Hopefully that elite splash is Archer sometime before the deadline.

Limit on Use of Relief Pitchers Sounds Absurd

why limit relief pitchers?

I'm a firm believer that any changes that need to be made to our game should be made in the best interest of the game only and it should not extend to the casual fan's wants or concerns....real baseball fans enjoy the game within a game within a game....and we'll watch our team in a 2 and a half hour game or a 4 and a half hour game.

Great win today. The Cardinals are certainly beatable and going 5-4 on this trip out of the ASB would put a huge grin on my face.
We can do this.

5th blown save of the year for Kenley Jansen.

Perhaps theres a reason The Shredder never has him in the Top 10 Relievers.

Currently 3-4 pn this road trip.

We'd be 5-2 if Kenley closed out the Diamondbacks and this game. I dont know what his problem is but he needs to get his **** together.

5 blown saves in a contract year?
Starting to look like QO material if you're asking me.

And his bull let the **** Giants off the hook once again. They havent won a game on this side of the ASB and we've only gained 2.5 games on them, in part, because of 2 9th innings where he was one out away and blew it.

Unbelievable the opportunity we've been given here and how he's squandered it.

Omg Kershaw this.
Kershaw that.
We've played just find since Kershaw went down. No excuses. Execute the Got Damn Save.

Got off work. Hit happy hour. Had a couple. Then came home and saw every pitch until I passed out fam.

Yes. I agree. Painful as hell.

We need to try and solve our RISP problem....what do you think about a lineup like this:

Chase
Howie
Corey
Justin
A-Gon
Yas
Joc/Puig
Puig/Joc
Pitcher

Gives Corey a better opportunity to drive in potential baserunners.

2nd benefit is it staggers the lineup so it's not as easy for the opposing manager to spring a lefty on Chase (L), Seager (L), Turner (R), Gonzo (L).

That got us killed last night.
Thoughts? I know you like Seager hitting 2nd.

the way Howie has been hitting in the month of July, I would love to have him hit in the second hole. or the third. or the fourth. him and Seager appears to be the hottest hitters we have and throw in the surge of Justin, I do think those three should be coined together. the Idea of Gonzo being the RBI man really needs to be re-examined at this point. so yeah, I would not have a problem with that lineup. I would probably flip the bottom of the order tho, so

Chase
Howie
Corey
Justin
Gonzo
Puig
Joc
Yaz

I just don't trust putting Puig in front of the pitcher' spot will help with his overly aggressive approach at the plate, he is finally getting a bit of a discipline, the last thing I want is him hacking at borderline piches and not seeing one down the middle. Joc as th 8th will help him with his OBP but it will kill his chance at seeing consistent fastballs in the zone to get his rythme back. Yaz has the talent to get on base and wait for his pitches, I think out of that trio, the other two outfielders will not do very well in the 8th hole.
ehhhhh f it.
