SugarRay34 wrote:This would be the perfect time for Melvin to call up Ken Williams and put together a package for Jermaine Dye. When Hall comes back then we have Hart in LF, Hall in CF, and Dye in RF. It would take a loaded package prolly one that involved 2 of our main prospects, but I think Dye would put us over the top. Inman/another good prospect/Gwynn/Bush or Varggas could hopefully get it done.

Thoughts on Dye guys?

I would sure take him. He could bat solitify the 5th spot in the order.

Hart
Hardy
Braun
Fielder
Dye
Hall
Estrada
Weeks
Pitcher

Pretty nice.

There is no way Dye stays in the Slump he is having...He desperatley wants away from ozzie and the whitesox. I think Dye would be a great addition.

He should desperately be playing for his next contract because it will be his last chance to cash in. He's 33, is playing terribly in a contract year and won't make us any better.

How about Ichiro? Torii Hunter would be a great fit here too.

Of course both would be good fits but both are still in contention and won't trade them. Plus we'd have to give up good players for a 3 month rental and I hate doing that.

.220 batting average? Are you serious? That's worse than Graffy, for god sakes. Nevermind.

Great, now the most over-rated player in Brewer history T. Gwynn JR is up....how long before the whining starts to put that slap hitter in the line-up...Corey Hart will never get an RBI chance with Weeks batting 7th, Gwynn batting 8th, and the pitcher 9th.

I agree that Melvin needs a quality starting pitcher more then anything...other then sheets most have underachieved.

Im glad Gwynn is back up. His defense is good...he is the second quickest guy on the team and will for sure have a bit of a chip on his shoulder after being sent down to the minors.

Over Weeks, Braun and Hart? No chance.

I would say it goes Hart, Gwynn, Weeks than Braun. Do you have their running times from spring training?

I know Hart was 6.59, Weeks was like 6.9 and Braun was like 6.85. Gwynn wasn't listed.

Oh Okay. Well im thrilled to have Gwynn back up here. I may overrate him but he is by far our best option in AAA at this point to take Hall's spot. Plus im sure Weeks, Braun, Fielder and the rest of the young guys will be happy he is back up because they are all really good friends that want to see each other succeed.

Not so fast, Nix actually had the same crappy on base as Gwynn but his slugging was about .200 better and his defense is, at least as good as Gwynn if not better. Gwyn has absolutely no pop at all, most of the pitchers possesmore power....if all he is going to do is be a late inning replacement thats fine....but there were actually people who thought he should have played ahead of Corey Hart early on....thats just insane.
