OKC media slowly starting to realize Dion likely won't return, but they all still think he's worth sinking big long term money into for some reason. The fact he hasn't gotten an offer sheet he likes and the only teams rumored to be interested are bottom 5 types doesn't seem to set off any alarms.

You nailed it, man. The hang up the local media has for this kid is unreal.

What makes it so bad is the media blasts how great and wonderful Dion is and there are fans who gobble it up. Dion has never had a season with a positive BPM or a positive VORP or a positive WAR. We can thank him for Payne, because without him dragging down the '14-'15 team they probably make the playoffs. Before someone says that pick wouldn't have been in question without the terrible trade for Dion keep in mind that they probably send that pick to Utah instead of the 2017, which got pushed to 2018, in the Kanter deal.

Waiters is the most loved negative value player OKC has had. It's like the exact opposite of Kendrick Perkins. Despite his flaws Perkins was still a positive player for the Thunder, but was consider terrible by fans and they wanted him gone for years. Roberson will probably take that title from Perkins after he gets resigned for around $12-15M/yr next off-season.
