During a visit to Chicago on Monday, Paul wasn't worried about either topic.

"I wasn't that surprised (about Wade)," Paul said. "You're talking about one of my best friends. I'm just happy for him. Chicago got not only a great player but a great guy. For him to be coming home, you guys got a treat."

Asked whether Wade sought help in making the decision, Paul made it sound like he was involved every step of the way.

"We talk about everything," Paul said. "It doesn't matter if he asks for our advice, me and LeBron (James) are going to give him our opinion all day long."

Paul mentioned he's also good friends with Bulls guard Jimmy Butler but didn't want to take a shot at predicting how the Bulls' new Wade-Butler-Rajon Rondo lineup will fare.

So now that Wade is officially a Bull, would it not be tampering if Pat the Rat reaches out to him via e-mail? I mean how does that work exactly? Does the league have to approve that type of correspondence or what?

Great question. My guess is it's highly not allowed and not appropriate. I also guess it will be done and ignored by the NBA.

There's probably a way around it such as sending something to Wade's agent and having him relay it. I doubt no President or GM has never contacted in some capacity a player that has left their team.

If Riley simply sends an email saying how much he appreciates Wade and wished things ended differently, then that's probably not going to be considered tampering. These people have known each other for over a decade. I doubt there's any type of rule that would prohibit them from communicating.

Both sides want Wade to come back to Miami. Riley has a bit of fence mending to do. Again I'm not suggesting the NBA will give this a second thought.

The 96 Bulls shot 40% from 3 as a team. Our current roster might have one 40% shooter on it other than the guy we spent 4 draft picks on specifically because he can shoot and he's tight with our FO.
