What's Kobe's role with the Lakers...?

Kobe will give up too much money if he went into coaching.

Needs to take two or three years off maybe attend to some bussiness/gming school and then and only then come back at some capacity.
Other posibility is that he asks for a role in some Ncaa team to learn how to coach, maybe with coach K?

Anyway since he is a jordan idolizer i give it 1-2 seasons before he attempts to comeback.

It's pretty rare in all sports. Players lives aside.....it's rare for a team not to dump a guy when they see an opportunity. Just ask Payton Manning. Or Favre. Or Wade. Oh....NOW Riley feels bad?? Yeah right. You didn't feel like he was worth it, and so you low-balled. It's not evil....but you did what you did. Don't try and lie about it.

Duncan, Kobe, Dirk....It's refreshing to see these 'relationships' now and then. It's cool to see Dirk take that paycut...and then have Cuban shell out to give him a nice send off.

I don't think what Riley did is super evil, or something...I mean Wade made north of 100 million dollars, so cry me a river. But at the end of it all....Wade took a cut almost his entire career....and you can't hook the guy up with a 2-year send off? That's some sh++y pool there Rile's. I hope the players take note when they come to play for you. Don't cry when stars pull "business is business" with you for the rest of your career.

The Kobe contract annoyed me for 2 reasons: A) We gave him a $90+ 3-year extension before that last one. I kinda felt we did our part. TWO WAY ROAD KOBE. B) I couldn't stand all the BS from Kobe, the team, and certain media guys trying to tell us that we could still totally build a contender. It was insulting. But in the end.....We honored one of the best Lakers ever. I'll take what we did over what Riley did. Thats for sure.

He's just taking time away from basketball. Maybe in 4-5 years he'll be interested in a position.

We should create a Kobe thread or something. These random things like him having a baby, his post playing career, etc annoy me for lack of a better way to put it.

He's dedicated to Kobe Inc. He's still young as far as coaching, front office roles, etc. He's got tons of time for that if Kobe Inc doesn't work and he misses the game and wants to jump back in.

I only want to hear something about Kobe if it involves him meeting Zubac. That would make me happy to hear Kobe talk about him.

Don't want him as a coach. He'd make a terrible coach. Don't want him as a GM. He'd make a terrible GM. Just because Kobe was great at basketball doesn't mean he can be great at anything. I'm surprised he hasn't started his own apparel line like MJ has.
