However if everyone hustles their ass off and helps on D the best they can then they can eke out below avg D overall. I will concede Lin can turn a league worst offense into an avg one assuming the coaching staff knows what its doing and gets everyone into the right spots so that Lin will find them open and of course feed Lin EPIC **** OF PnRs.

I'm just hoping that Lin's presence causes the Nets to improve significantly. If you think we Lin fans are expecting him to turn the team into a dominant force by himself, you're mistaken.

The Lin haters (and I don't know if you are one of them) are always moving the goalposts. This time, a lot of them, their previous arguments having been totally blown away by Lin's performances, are loudly proclaiming that he'll be a failure if he doesn't turn a team around by himself. I object to this double standard, as few of these hypocrites apply the same criterion to other NBA players, some of them very good players. (I am not saying that you are necessarily one of the haters.)

I will be happy if Jeremy merely improves the Nets significantly.

The Nets will have to be greater as a whole than the sum of their parts. Only way this team can win games is by good team oriented play on both ends. we'll have to see how this goes but expectations need to be LOW.

like 12-70 LOW.

Nets has no pick. Therebis no incident to go this low.
Nets is projected to be the top 2 worst team next year. So if the Nets is anything but the 2 worst team, then the team did an outstanding job.

As much as i really dont want to wade into the Lin fray...

I'm really curious about the Lin haters. What does Lin have to do to stop your unrelenting hatefest on him? You know, the hate that drives you guys to post pages upon pages of stats that you honestly know dont mean a damn thing to the LinFanaticTards who are at this point more than likely Lin haters/trolls just riling u up on purpose to make Lin and his fans look bad. Help the Nets win 40 games? Go 20/10 with DPoY? Just do better than your preferred PG in Rondo? I'm just really curious, cuz after all this back and forth, i dont think anything Lin does will be good enough and that all you guys hope for is for Lin to go utter scrubtastic mode to "prove'" yourselves right. Or you guys hate Lin fans so much you want Lin the player, who by all accounts is a pretty chill guy, to abjectly fail to rub into the Lin fans faces. Yay? Go you for being right? And then hand over another top 3 pick to BOS (**** those guys, **** those goat **** all day long).

This whole situation is utterly farcical. I havnet seen such abject hatred since my little sojourn over the ClutchFans to laugh at the animals over there posting hundreds of pages of sheer hate and spite for a player who left 3 years ago. At least the laker and hornet RealGM boards who got sick of the Lin-Slurpers/trolls and prolly ended up hating Lin for it, just wisened up and outright ignored all the Lin-Slurpers/trolls until they just went away from not being able to get posters to continually rise to the bait.

Edit: Ah he has 2.3 mil in incentives? interesting, does anyone know what they are?

i havent seen a single person hate on lin.

saying lin isnt in hardens class, or isnt better then lillard/wall is not hating on lin.

some of the Lin fans need to develop a backbone, and not be so insanely sensative as to where if someone does call lin a god they take it as hating on lin

On Lincentives:

Eric Pincus has a excellent, to-the-point tweet:

[tweet]https://twitter.com/EricPincus/status/751440109480796161[/tweet]

"Unlikely bonuses" are explained in that Larry Coon Salary Cap Ultra-FAQ: http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm (go all the way down to #74). They're more lucrative than "likely" bonuses (maintained player productivity, max 4.5% bonus)

Depending on how "nice" Nets want to be to Lin (did they "know" they were getting a good deal and wanted to build in a little extra bonus into the contract, or are they gonna out-and-out challenge him to "earn" it), they can supplement his salary by up to 7.5% (in this case, Pincus thinks it's more like 6% I guess) without it counting against the cap if he, for instance, hits certain performance parameters. My guess, it's PPG and/or APG. According to Coon, 1 assist over Lin's last-season average would count as an "unlikely" bonus. So, if they want to reward Lin, they set his assist goal at, like, 4.5 (pfft, Kemba Walker can do it as a scoring guard-type, so you KNOW Lin can). If Marks wants Lin to "earn it", they set it at, say, 7-8. Lin's agents are no fools, presumably, so I'm thinking they set mutually-agreed-upon "unlikely" performance bars where Lin can EASILY hurdle them (13 and 4.5).

Unlikely bonuses become much more likely when you're promoting a last-season 6th man to full-time starting PG minutes. ;)

Randy Foye bought himself a new house a week ago:

At the meanwhile, Jeremy Lin is living in an apartment(the white one) at around Prospect Ave ... near the HSS training center:

That's probably just for a couple of days... after the press he would be back in Cali working on his game again. Next time when he comes to NY he might find a brand new home for the long-term solution.

lots of good places to live in Jersey for a guy of his stature, if his mom manages his finances it might be cheaper to live in NJ and commute to BK honestly.
