Ohhhhhhhhhh that's a really good idea.
Any player the Spurs acquire people are going to say it's a good idea because they are the Spurs and they could find a way to incorporate me on the team and win games. If any other team in the league went out and got 3 post scorers people would call them dumb.
They have good enough perimeter defense to mitigate some of Monroe and Gasol's shortcomings on defense, and as you said, Pop is very good at fitting his scheme to the personnel he has.
I'm assuming LMA is the third one you're referring to? He's not just a post scorer. Neither is Gasol, for that matter. All 3 of those guys have at least a little range, though Moose is probably better just sticking close to the basket.

Well, I can tell you the inverse didn't work. We went out and got a good player that didn't fit our scheme in any way, and then didn't alter our scheme in any way to support him. That is not a good idea.

Would love to see OKC be the team that takes Green here.
But I just don't see how the Spurs can put enough money together to take back Monroe and make it worth it.
Would have to be Green, Mills, and another player and just take back Monroe and maybe a pick.

Re: Random Rumor Thread: Post em here
What if it's Parker and not Green? (Maybe the Bucks could send MCW back to the Spurs in such a deal, if that helps.)
I hate to say it, HW, but there is a team out there that was willing to spend a boatload of capspace on a multi-year deal for a veteran Spurs guard recently...

Reports were that the 2nd year was mostly unguaranteed.

Are the Spurs willing the trade Parker? I feel they may be overly attached to him.

I don't believe it either.
But if I am imagining this is true, put me down for LMA to Boston, Amir to the Bucks, and Monroe and value from Boston to the Spurs. Why not, right?

Re: Random Rumor Thread: Post em here
I think bringing back Manu but then trading Parker would be counter to how the Spurs have set up this year. Especially for Greg Monroe.
How about this anyway:
MIN out: Rubio
MIN in: Green, MCW, 2017 MKE 1st
MKE out: Monroe, MCW, 2017 1st top 5 prot.
MKE in: Parker
SAS out: Parker, Green
SAS in: Rubio, Monroe
Might need tweaks. Waffled on the Spurs sending a protected pick to Minny as well.

Would have to be quite a bit of value. I can't imagine the Spurs want to move LMA (unless he requests it), so we're talking about a package that would rival any star trade suggested so far (Brooklyn pick and probably another asset added to Monroe). I just don't see it as practical even so. Neither Gasol nor Dedmon are good fits with Monroe.

Add me to the list of skeptics. I don't see why we would want him and I don't see a way for us to acquire him that would make sense.

As much as I'm okay with the idea that Rubio is worth a good deal more than Parker, I'm not moving Green and Parker for that package, not even with the Milwaukee pick swinging to the Spurs.

And considering this came from Bucks media, by far the most logical explanation here is that the Bucks aren't getting much (any?) interesting in Monroe so they are trying to make other teams think the Spurs want him, in theory making some other team completely change their mind on him, because if hte Spurs want him we must?

Re: Random Rumor Thread: Post em here
I find it hard to believe that Monroe is the kind of player that the Spurs would actually want. He's one of those empty stats guys and 0 for 6 in playoff appearances. Back when he was leaving Detroit, the general feeling was that he'd fit well at center with a Ibaka/Davis type who could lead the defense. The Bucks don't have someone like that, (Henson could be close but doesn't play enough) and they suffered big time as a result.

Also none of the Spurs guys are even acknowledging this rumor.

Can I read this as the Bucks don't want what the Spurs are offering, so the Spurs plan to ship their package around the league looking for what the Bucks want in return?

This makes a lot of sense. I could see us being interested in him before we got Gasol but now..
