2011 Bulls
Rose/Bogans/Deng/Boozer/Noah
Who is their floor spacer there? Bogans was garbage, Rose still couldnt shoot, and Deng was decent from 3
2015 Bulls
Rose/Butler/Dunleavy/Gasol/Noah
So just Dunleavy, but we will have Mirotic in the line up this year.
I think people are underestimating this team - We have 3 legit playmakers in the starting line up and will stagger lineups to incorporate shooting. Im excited to watch Butler and Lebron battle it out, while Wade gets to have his way with JR Smith or Kyrie.
2nd seed, ECF.
Laughable that you think this team has the potential to over take Boston or the Raptors for the 2nd/3rd seed.
Extremely small sample sizes but Rondo did shoot 35.2% from 3 -19/54 in Dallas and 36.5% - 62/170 in Sacramento both of which were career highs so maybe he's turning over a new leaf? Also Wade did shoot 52.2% - 12/23 in the most recent play off run but also shot a dreadful 7/44 for 16% in the RS. So there is potential for some spacing in the back court there. Jimmy also shot 38% 2 seasons ago and regressed this year so he also has shown the ability to nail the 3 consistently.
Ceiling = 4th seed, they'll make it to the playoffs provided they don't have any chemistry issues with ego clashes over who handles the ball. The battle for the 4-8th seed in the East is going to be exciting for sure and there is going to be a lot of juggling similar to this year's finish down the final stretch of the season for the 3-6 seeds with them all tying and tie-breakers being used to sort of playoff positioning. Cleveland, Boston, Raptors, are all but guaranteed the top 3 seeds with Atlanta, Charlotte Indiana, Detroit, Chicago, New York and Orlando all battling it out for the last few spots.
I think the surprise team next year will be the Magics with all of their underrated pickups this year. Ibaka is the perfect fit next to Vuc, the addition of Biz will give them a defensive anchor on the court at all times, they cleared up the spacing issues with a Payton/Oladipo opening up more minutes for Hezonja/Fournier. The biggest addition will be Vogel though I think read in his tenure with the Pacers they have always been in the top 10 for Defense.
The Bulls have Wade and Butler - who are better than anyone on the Celtics and Raptors roster combined. Maybe i'm a homer and biased, but Derozan, Lowry, and Horford are all a tier below Butler and Wade. I don't see how you can claim that it's laughable for this team to have the POTENTIAL to overtake the Raptors or Celtics - it's actually realistic whether you want to believe it or not.
The Bulls may not have the spacing in the starting line up, but they do have shooting on the bench that will be a part of the rotation - Portis, Mcdermott, Mirotic, Valentine, Snell, Canaan. We also have the benefit of finally having multiple ball handlers and playmakers on the court at once, which will lead to better ball movement. I haven't been this excited for the Bulls in a long time, and looking forward to the next 2 years to make another power move in free agency/trade.

If anything they are all on the same tier minus Lowry who is above them all. Chemistry is an underrated aspect in team success and that is something that both Boston and the Raptors have an abundance of. They're both virtually returning with the same teams but have upgraded their front courts in Sully and Horford. It is laughable that you think a brand new bulls team has the chops to make up that much of a difference when the Raptors prove they are dominant in the RS and both teams have are young enough to improve within.

Re: What are your expectations for the Bulls?
I'm pretty skeptical. Everyone sees the spacing issue, but those who brush it off and point at McDermott, Mirotic, Valentine, etc. seem to forget those players are also awful on defense. So it's either bring in shooters to space the floor but sacrifice on defense, or bring in defenders and sacrifice the spacing. The lack of 2 way players is going to hurt. Either way, it's going to be hard to win games when the opposing team has a pretty good idea of how to play against mostly flawed lineups. 11th seed is my guess.

The pacers and heat are up and comers with Zo and hardaway. Watch out for the Bullets with Webber but they won't give Chicago a challenge. Maybe, San Antonio, Utah or Seattle could give him a run in the finals.

Jimmy Butler is a better basketball player than Kyle Lowry - whether you compare them in general or at their position. That is my opinion - and if you are a Raptors fan, I don't see how you can argue that after Jimmy lit up your whole squad for 40pts in the second half

Jimmy butler is so overrated. He's mentioned like he's in the same class as Kwahi or Paul George. He's not even close to being consistent enough offensively. He's no where near being a better player than Klow.

Hmmm.... if they can stay healthy, I see them getting as high as 4th or as low as 9th.

Yet he was more consistent compared to PG even with his pretty bad end to the season

Re: What are your expectations for the Bulls?
They have the talent to be top 3 in the east now with Wade. However I think this will be an experiment gone very wrong because of chemistry. I actually think the chemistry between Wade and Rondo will be fine, but I think Butler will clash with the other two. I'm really surprised Bulls fans are happy with his attitude. He just rubs me the wrong way.
The recent quotes he gave about those 2 coming to the Bulls was all "me, me, me". He barely seemed to talk about the team. I dunno, I just feel like Butler is going to try too hard to prove himself and emerge as the leader of that team that he'll kill any potential they have. Which is fine with me. #WadebacktoWadeCounty2017

His attitude definitely feels a whole lot different from a few years ago. His game has come such a long way, it's impossible to expect him to stay completely humble. That said, I think pretty much every party in the Bulls absurd melodrama all last year is guilty to some degree of worsening the situation. I don't think he expected Wade at all - and he's publicly maintaining his leadership of the team. I cannot deny that I've winced at several quotes of his over the last few years.

I think PG and JImmys numbers are similar, but the eye test tells you PG is more dynamic. But if we are looking at the east no team is unbeatable except the cavs. Toronto and boston dont scare me one bit. I can definitely see scenarios with this BUlls team beating both in a playoff series, but nit getting ahead of myself i feel the BUlls will struggle during the season. Unlike those two teams its no guarantee Chicago even makes the post season.
And how dare a Raps fan call Jimmy overrated, this will be brought up on June 18th next year.

As a Bulls fan one of my main concerns is Hoiberg and how well he coaches the team. I think the Bulls can be anywhere from imploding to going far in the Playoffs. We shall see. Go Bulls!
