Both are younger, both better 2 way players, both can shoot just as well.

The advanced numbers prove it. TJ is better across the board. Same thing with Josh

I like TJ, but he is an undrafted undersized combo-guard, who hasn't played 100 games, yet

Who cares about the titles? he's showing you on the court he's better. Across the board better. Younger too.

How is it fair to give the invitation to McDermott solely because he was a lottery pick? I can call him an undersized PF who didn't achieve positive VORP in his career. He played 50 games more then TJ, and actually less minutes per game despite being a lottery pick and TJ having to prove himself starting as a complete unknown.

Got some moar shooters and athletic bigs so lob game should be fun, at the least

Not nearly as long or athletic as Jordan, but a bit more skilled. I'm thinking Miles Plumlee type - high motor energy backup.

Well, let's see what's Spo got up his sleeve.

I don't think the Blazers have a talent advantage over us honestly, they just played the perfect style for them and maximized their players.

They do, might be a slight edge but they have that over us.

How do you figure?

Let's compare the top 7 rotations :

Dragic << Damian Lillard
Rich < C.J. McCollum
TJ = Allen Crabbe
Derrick Williams + J.Jonson = Meyers Leonard
Justise > Al-Farouq Aminu
Hasasn >> Mason Plumlee
W.Reed = Ed Davis

They're not younger or deeper, They played an up-tempo 3 point chucking style and it worked great for them, We need to play an up-tempo defensive style and embrace to 3 point 3 more then we did, I don't see a talent gap there, I see great coaching on their side and a question mark on ours.

I'm sorry but this analysis is godawful.

Allen Crabbe > TJ
Aminu > Justise
E. Davis > Reed

You're seriously underrating some Blazers while seriously overrating our players. It's fine to be hopeful of our players. But what exactly has Reed acclompished to be considered equal to Ed Davis? Have you even seen Aminu play this past season? (especially in the Playoffs) He's ahead of Justise by some distance and I say that as a massive Justise fan. Crabbe and TJ is closer, but Crabbe is better. Just one < for the Rich & CJ comparison is underselling it a little bit as well. CJ is significantly better at this stage.

Not to mention you combined D-Will & JJ to equal Leonard, which doesn't make any sense. Blazers have Moe Harkless in the mix as well.

Would be nice. He would instantly be one of our best prospect. He's got that alpha mentality

Met him personally, he is a good dude...actually had a long convo over some hookah in the off season last year, I think he would thrive in a system that develops talent like ours

I don't understand. He stroked a corner 3 in the only visible jumper he took in this video. It didn't even touch the rim.

During 5 vs 5, he was in good rebounding position and pushed the ball effectively after each board. He made good passes and got a nice assist. The man he was guarding didn't even touch the ball while he was on D, which is nice sign.

What was he supposed to do lol? He looked fine to me. It's just some drills and a bit of scrimmage. Some of y'all really dislike justise, don't you?

I agree with the ed davis bit. He's really good on the low. Really did a lot for their team last year. Reed is still a fringe guy.
The other two not so much lol. Aminu is a solid player and proven, but Justise is better man lol. I'm confident that much will be apparent in an expanded role. Aminu's more consistent ill give you that, but justise can do things on both ends that aminu will never be able to sniff.
And Crabbe is not that good tbh. Nice shooter, but doesn't really give you anything else. He and TJ are kinda equalish at this point, and Tj would be a better fit on most teams than crabbe for sure. Much more versatile as a player in every aspect and also a decent shooter in his own right. Crabbe's real value is much closer to the contract Tj was offered. He def benefited from the fact that he's a more known quantity around the league and he's young.

Not only is Winslow not better than Aminu, he's not even that close yet. Winslow was a huge liability on offense this past year. Yes, he's an awesome defender. But Aminu is a way more well-rounded player right now. Aminu prior to this past season I could give you, but he learned to shoot this season and made leaps in his game because of it.

Winslow probably surpasses him in the very near future (maybe even next season) but as things stand, without making any assumptions, no, he's not better than Aminu.

Whooooo damn Aminu shot 37% from 3 this year! I didn't realize that! Ok fine he's more useful on offense on a consistent basis, but when Winslow has it going he's superior on that end to me because of his slashing and playmaking and he's got more talent on that end, BUT Aminu appears to be the more reliable and therefore superior offensive contributor rn so ok I concede there.

Defense they aren't really far apart.
Alright I guess I can see an arguement for aminu>Winslow right now. Aminu is pretty good after all so this isn't something crazy to say.

Y'all think Williams will be a good fit nects to Whiteside? I don't think Bosh start next to or ahead of him(Whiteside) regardless of if he plays the season or not and Williams seems to be the guy the Heat want to try out

Defensively, that front court doesn't really come off of paper very well... Offensively, maybe interesting??? I'm interested at least/

Williams isn't good offensively or defensively, the best outcome one can realistically expect from his tie on and off the court this year is that he doesn't get in the way.
