I'd say, think if him as an ultimate glue guy, or an elite role player. He's neither really a PG, nor a SG. He'll also do whatever is game planned of him, and he's kind of an ultimate teammate. Whether we asked him to defer and teach Lance Stephenson how to control a game, or to defer and put the ball in PG's hands to let him become a star, or to take over as lead ball handler the year PG was injured and Lance was gone, he'll do it without any arguing. He's definitely more of a 3 and D kind of guard. He can slash, but he's not an explosive attacker of the basket. He's a really smart, heady, and solid defender, using his body to get in front, and long arms to annoy people. However, as others said, he can be outraced by small, super speedy PG's (Teague used to get him bad, but he did ridiculously well against Kyle Lowry in this past playoffs).
Basically, he'll be a solid asset where ever you play him. You can put him as your starting PG, but have Hayward handle the ball with no issues. You can have him as your off guard with no issues. You can bring him off the bench with no issues, though you'll continually want him to play more. He's good off screens, and great in the corners.
