Charlotte would have a hard time suing because they started the whole mess. If they don't screw their law up first then HB2 likely never happens and we are not in this mess. Charlotte started the whole process and now we all have to suffer for it. The cost themselves a ton of money because they started a pissing contest with the state.

OK, again, all this rhetoric is pointless. Coach K came out this week about the law because his team lost a home game (Albany). Where was his stated stance before this happened? Answer: there was none. He only commented because it hit him where it hurts. And Silver cut his line in the concrete long ago because he had to be PC for the league...and to preserve the benjamins. Where was Silver's stated stance prior to the law's enactment? Answer: there was none.

And now here we sit, on the brink of losing the ASG because Joe can't go pee in Jane's toilet if his birth certificate says he's a male. But, of course, we won't mention that if a business wants to make all its bathrooms gender neutral, there's no law against it.

The outrage over this whole thing is insane. And the NBA's decision to remove the ASG is petty and self-serving.

"While we recognize that the NBA cannot choose the law in every city, state, and country in which we do business, we do not believe we can successfully host our All-Star festivities in Charlotte in the climate created by HB2."

For the record, this is BS and it's not true. The NBA is moving the game, which is its right, because they stand to lose corporate money, not because they have any care for the LGBT community.

Welp, now that its official, the boycotts can't stop here. Its time people and companies start targeting the politicians and areas of the state that were the strongest supporters of HB2. Everyone in the state needs to feel the same pain that Charlotte is feeling in order for change to happen. If Charlotte is the only city getting punished, nothing will change.

That last part isn't true at all. They care a large amount about the LGBT community, especially since Silver has taken over. It's become a large focus in the realm of their causes.

Its always been 100% about the money. Silver and the NBA are pissing in our faces and telling us its raining. NBA doesn't bother pulling games out of China because China money >>> human rights issues. In this case corp sponsors >>> Charlotte.

I agree with this decision. It's a drag, I was looking forward to celebrating my second All-Star weekend in my home state, but the politics of this bill are absurd. There's all sorts of hypocrisy going around here to be sure, but HB2 is wrong. Let's get the state's social policies back on the right track and look forward to 2019.

it's official. I'm out. I just feel the NBA is being very hypocritical. I do not appreciate the position they have taken with the Hornets and the city of Charlotte. I also do not like the way the hornets did not truly fight to keep the team by publicly bringing this up to NBA officials. Maybe I'll get season tickets in the future, but for this year I am out, and when I let them know tomorrow i will mention this specifically. I feel very cheated right now.

Hey Walt, what are the feelings in Raleigh? You're there in the middle of everything. Are there major corps boycotting Raleigh like what has happened here in Charlotte with Paypal pulling out of a huge deal?

It sounds like the Hornets fought very hard to keep it here in Charlotte. They were never going to publicly call out Silver and the NBA.

This is total BS, PC to a ridiculous degree. I'm not addressing the politics of the state's policy. I'm sick of corporations sensitive to every nuance of social stigma they fear. Should the NBA not do things in Chicago because of the excessive murders that occur over and over, particularly when the huge majority of it is black on black crime? Where is their statement on that? Nowhere, because it is embarrassing to address.

They will try to make a "statement" with the replacement city...going somewhere that will spotlight all the glories of gender contortion. Push it into the face of fans, who frankly just want to enjoy a sport.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The ASG leaving CLT hurts #Hornets in so many ways, but free-agency attraction is the biggest to me. Had made immense headway in that area..

I fear the fallout of today will have longer lasting effects than we've yet discussed.

I'm so angry. I am never angry, but I am visibly angry at work. Next year was supposed to be our year.

No company boycotts in Raleigh are coming to mind. Like you mentioned, Google Fiber is still on it's way as far as I know. There were concerts cancelled.
