Team USA: Boogiewatch

Post#1 » by enderwilson » Wed Jul 20, 2016 10:15 pm

As quiet as things are, it's good to watch Boogie representing the United States (and Sacramento) for the Olympics. Some videos are available showing Demarcus engaged and having fun.

Willie's presence on the select team is giving him and Demarcus more opportunities to bond.

And this interview with Coach K is what really motivated me to post this. DMC gets a lot of negativity thrown his way - some of it deserved - so it's refreshing to hear from a venerable, HoF coach how much he's matured as a leader. Here's Coach Krzyzewski praising DMC alongside Carmelo on leadership and being vocal at 2:40 in, and in the importance of blocking out during free throws 7:50.

I remember last off season I wanted him to really workout hard and come into camp in crazy shape to run the offense that Karl was gonna run. Now hearing all the reports and seeing him slimmed down, healthy and happy could spell good things.

That leadership quality I really expect to build. He has it and most teammates like him

It's gonna be especially important with atleast 8 new guys in camp and a new coaching staff. He has a chance to set the tone and really be a better version of himself for lack of a better phrase. Put together all the things he has and will learn this off season.

My wife dragged me into hot yoga once before let me tell you it is no joke! Not my thing but it's hard. I can see how it benefits Cousins.

Nice vid, thanks for the link. I like the fact that he seems to have more of a positive attitude this year.

Yeah, he really enjoys himself on team USA. Being around guys like Melo (his favorite player), Barnes (unexpected buddy), Draymond and Coach K really agrees with him. I think it has to do with how he feels overall as well. Feels good about his health and team situation. Hopefully all that carries over into the season.

Cousins is the better player, but Jordan might be the better fit with starting unit. Either way, hope this goes well for DMC

Cousins: 6'10 ... on some days.

Another wonderful thing about Cuz is that he doesn't lie about or try to hide his height
