Why didn't we sign Cat to our summer league team? I know he got hurt but it seemed like a natural fit with his NC ties and our needs for a back up PG prior to signing Sessions. We had him in a couple of times before the draft too.
I think that he has all the skills to be a good NBA rotational player if not a starter. What's the boards opinion?
Can we get him back here for the swarm?
I would love to see him on the Hornets and think we may be making a mistake by passing hm up. Dude can ball. Fast, nice shot, good D, seems like a leader, what's the knock on him?

Re: Cat Barber
Idk. All I know is that made a joke about his name yesterday when my coworker dropped off his cat before work to get it groomed and he didn't get it because he doesn't like basketball.

Re: Cat Barber
Well, Cat just signed a deal with the 76ers. Guess that's that. Too bad, I think he may become a solid rotational player in the near future. Dude can ball.

Re: Cat Barber
Sixers already have 20 players after signing Brandon Paul, so I'm not sure how this would work. Either someone has been cut or he hasn't officially signed yet.

ESPN Insider:
Philadelphia's bigger obstacle is roster spots. The 76ers don't have enough room to sign free agents Anthony Barber and Brandon Paul to reported minimum contracts because that would give them 21 players -- one more than the NBA's offseason limit of 20. Barring a trade, point guard Kendall Marshall will probably be the odd man out because his $2 million salary for 2016-17 guarantees before training camp.

Marshall or Barber, whichever ends up the odd man out in Philly, should be a target for us to sign and add to our d league team (Although butter may get primary back up money elsewhere). Both players have higher upside than Roberts and Roberts can always be moved if either show promise

And there we are.
Philly's roster is really interesting with 13 guaranteed contracts, and another 7-8 unguaranteed ones. And honestly, some key players fall into the unguaranteed category. Their guaranteed contracts...
PG: Jerryd Bayless, Sergio Rodriquez
SG: Gerald Henderson, Nik Stauskas
SF: Hollis Thompson, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
PF: Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, Richaun Holmes, Carl Landry
C: Nerlens Noel,.Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid
And the unguaranteed...
Kendall Marshall, $2M
TJ McConnell, Minimum
Cat Barber, Minimum
Pending a trade, gotta think one of the above point guards take one of the final two spots. The other guys competing for the last spot...
Robert Covington, $1M
Jerami Grant, $1M
Shawn Long, Minimum ($65k guaranteed)
James Webb, Minimum ($65k guaranteed)
Brandon Paul, Minimum

The Paul contract is curious given McConnell is a legit 3rd pg. I'd assume Paul, Barber, Marshall, Long, and Webb are deep bench insurance should McConnell, Grant, and/or Covington be included in a larger package with a center. Hard seeing any of those 3 being released outright, though I would've said the same about Wood.
I do think Long has a chance of catching on somewhere if Philly lets him go.

Re: Cat Barber
I really hope Cat makes a team and sticks but as a NC State fan I was really hoping he'd stay one more year to work on his outside shot before he declared for the draft. A spotty shooter without much size just doesn't titillate the scouts anymore, no matter how good his handles, speed or athleticism (or ability to play basketball beyond shooting threes).
