2016-2017= $19 Mill
2017-2018=$6 Mil
2018-2019=$6 Mil
2019-2020=$19 Mil

I'm with it. I don't think he signed that offer sheet because he wants out of Miami, he signed it because he wants his money, respectfully.

It wasn't just the money. An article that quoted his family said he turned down higher offers from elsewhere in order to sign with the Nets. In the article, his mother said she was excited that he would get to play with Jeremy Lin because they're both from the same Bay Area and undrafted.

It depends on how much the Heat rate this Mcgruder guy I suppose. And if they want to start Josh Richardson next year. If McGruder is nearly as good as Tyler Johnson, it might not make sense to do the deal.

It make sense Heat Matching cause at 5 mil the next two years he is a discount and he will only count 1.2 mil against the cap. They have faith that he will develop in to at least a good PG/SG so in two years when he is 26 the salary cap will be even higher than it is now. In that market his contract could seem like a deal but that is call contingent on his continued development. Worse case scenario we trade him and our 2023 1st round pick or earlier 2nd round pick some where to clear up cap space!!

Yeah if you believe he will continue to develop, and if you're the heat, why wouldn't you given how much he's progressed already and how hard he works, why wouldn't you bet on him being worth that contract in three years? 1.2 and 5 mill for the next two years is good value for what he is now.

Also I really like when we play him and Dragic together because it's clear that TJ has patterned some of his game off of Dragic just from being around him, and it's like double dragon.

I think it was an ok move because in a few years he'll be making the equivalent of about $11-12mill. That's Danny Green money. Good 3pt shooting plus 12ppg would bring him up to that level production wise at least. The D is already pretty good against fast PG's, he size hurts him a bit on that end though. Just something he needs to overcome.
