Why the 1976 cutoff?

I used 1976 since it was the year the ABA merged with the NBA and the NBA as we know it was formed. Its also about the time that most of the stats are available on bball-ref and close to the year the 3pt line as added. We've done drafts limited to just the current year, some back to the beginning and the last two starting with the merger.

Don't quit, plenty of franchise players left to build around and you get two of them, back to back...

just do a similar strategy with kareem

Id have to use all nba to take Kareem and that would have a domino effect on the rest of my plan. My plan was entirely based on getting Wilt (or Shaq if Wilt got sniped) with the rookie category.

OK man. Sorry about that crushing your Wilt dreams filled with Volleyball, endless chicks to bang and Conan the Destroyer on VHS playing in continuous loop in the background.

Stick around, comment on picks and help us judge.

I guess you're up again Batum.

This is so accurate.

Wilt, Kareem, MJ, and Lebron are my NBA mt. Rushmore. I think those are the only four who belong in the GOAT discussion.

I'd still prefer Bird over Lebron, but that's the fun of these drafts, each player can be argued.
If Lebron had Bird's drive to win and improve, especially his shooting touch, then Lebron would be GOAT.

Game on the line, 20 seconds left to win it, I would prefer giving it to Bird than Lebron

Also surprised Tim Duncan is still on the board.

My next pick was Durant's MVP season with turnovers 13-14.

Yeah that was my pick.

Damn that **** sucks so bad. My whole rest of my team was built around that. And damn I woulda had it with the back to back picks.

Ive gotta do some stuff with my wife and daughter. I'll pick my guy in a little while. Shockingly I had zero back up for this pick. So I need to look at some stuff.

Yep. I was gonna go with my All NBA in the third round. No.desire to use that now, but might have to so I don't get sniped there either.

Is it technically a snipe when an obvious great pick gets taken four before me? Probably not. I shouldn't have expected him to drop

Well be wasn't getting to you cause the Robinson/Durant combo was my plan all along. I'm just irritated that it would have have worked if I still had the back to backs.

But it's still a great pick by Gatz, I would have just gone with his MVP year.

It's all about his sidekick pal :P
Now somebody need to take KAJ before Fats takes him!
I really wanted to take KAJ with my 2nd pick but the hoosier category is so thin, my middle finger to Sachmo, he got Bird in that category.
