I take deal B anyday of the week, infact I suggested that would keep Crowder in Boston, no BRK pick to LAC, no Rozier to SAC but the Memphis pick. LAC get their own pick back (maybe thats what Ainge thought when trading 31&35).

I think you would need to swap out Young with Rozier. I don't think SAC has any interest in Young, but that framework would make some sense.

Does anybody? Wouldn't be shocked to see Young team up with Yabs this season lol.

Have a nice life, Jae.

Yeah, it's weird. Just reading the deals I'm thinking I'd rather keep Crowder on the team so I'd prefer the other variation. However, that means I'm essentially valuing Crowder more than the Brooklyn pick which doesn't seem right (especially if it's the '17 pick).

That kind of tells you what both think are happening.

Yeah its weird because in addition to my dudes, my wife is getting a lot of marketing assignments involving brown. Their portfolio of recent content is filled with Brown stuff. It's really tough to decide what to believe.

Yo, can she confirm if he's changed his # to 7? Seems to be no confirmation if Celts store is making an error or not.

Yep all of the branding is #7, got mine today. I really like this kid, so i'm kind of personally investing in finding out wether he stays or goes lol.

This is the perfect scenario for us but not sure if it gets it done. I think the sticking point would be a nets pick on a deal like this. It would be great if the Memphis and Clippers pick gets it done but idk.

Smitty, do you think the hold up on any of these deals is getting the star in to sign a contract extension?

Do you honestly think Ainge would give up a ton of assets gambling on a year rental?

I had no idea Rudy Gay's value was so high...Maybe Doc is high.

I'd love to keep Rozier. Think he might be special...

FWIW, I want Brown to stay. Watching him up close in Las Vegas, he was super impressive. He already has an NBA body and still has room to fill out a little more. If his jumper gets consistent, wow. I think he's actually similar to, but in many ways better, than Crowder. They are both tough defenders who like to get up in to guys. Crowder is a bit better rebounder, but Brown has a better handle and is a better passer. Outside shot was shaky for Crowder too.

That is all a long way of saying I'm not sure if the Celtics need both guys. Eventually I think one of them will be elsewhere so that both can grow.

It's not. Doc has just always been a huge fan of Gay.

Do NOT underestimate this part at all. The ownership group wants to win and they want to win NOW. They were impatient with the 1 year the team was out of the playoffs.

How do you think the Celtics would rank Jaylen Brown, the '17 nets pick, and the '18 nets pick as assets?

Aw, I liked him in Rondo's number a lot better. I'm planning on getting a shirt at some point too. I want Rozier's also but it's too risky. Hell pretty much anybody is risky to get.

Yes, that B trade is awesome from Boston standpoint

I don't know. I'm really jealous of that 17BK pick. If it includes the 18BK pick, no problem. But choosing between Crowder and that 17 pick...that's tough. Crowder is awesome. I love him. But that 17 pick is where you have the chance to get a top 10 player for the next decade+.

I think I'd rather give up Jae and swing for the fences.

Wowzer, I thought Wyc was relatively uninvolved.

Wyc seems like a dick tbh, says some cringeworthy stuff some times. Lacob style cringey.

I assumed as much (I think Wyc was a minor influence on the IT trade, Danny not being able to pass that up the main influence), and have said so for years on here only to be ridiculed with platitudes of "Wyc is awesome".

Not that you were saying otherwise, but it's good to hear confirmation of my suspicions that our ownership is all about winning now.

And although I say this as a criticism, there are reasons it does make sense: Brad possibly leaving sooner than we think being the most important one (imo).

15th always said the same FWIW.

No idea to be honest. Anything I would put out there would be my opinion only. If that is what you want I think it is either in the order you have listed or swap Brown and 17 BRK.

I do know that many around the league don't think the 18 BRK pick has nearly as much value as most around here do. A lot of teams think BRK will be ok (not good, but not horrible) this year. And they think in 2017-2018 with a TON of cap space, they could jump up big time. And a few other East teams might be on downswings at that point as well.

I talked with a lot of people who said now is the time to trade the 2018 BRK pick. And I talked with slightly less who said that the 2017 BRK pick might not have the locked in value that some think it does either.
