ESPN 2016 Summer Forecast East Standings

13. Orlando Magic
Proj. record: 35-47
Last season: 35-47

Are the Magic any better or worse off for trading Victor Oladipo for Serge Ibaka? Both play great defense but struggle to get involved offensively. You could say the same for other Magic additions in Bismack Biyombo and Jeff Green.

They don't have us moving at all.

I really think they have zero clue. I like how they calmly don't even mention the Vogel hire.

I'm not surprised. I've seen other sites project us as low as 30 wins. I think it's hilarious! But every year, these "experts" show how little they really know.

ESPN: "Lol, new great coach? Two awesome low-post defenders? Internal improvement? Who cares, they traded Oladipo for Ibaka which means the record will be the same because they both have better defense than offense even though they play entirely different positions, herp derp 35 wins"

Hardcore fans aren't ESPN's target demographic, yet we give them clicks and ratings anyway. Imagine how thrilled Nickelodeon would be if adults tuned in every day to watch Paw Patrol.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I think saying Bismack struggles to get involved offensively is a massive understatement. Jeff Green is Jeff Green, you know what you're going to get. However while I think he's right about Serge, I think we're going see a different version that's going to be expected to take on a bigger role on this team. Imo Serge becomes (or at least tries to) more of a scorer than a shooter, Even more so if Biyombo starts. They aren't completely clueless but I also think they sold us short by not mentioning the Vogel hire.

I think we win more than 35 games and I think its a lazy assessment of our team. That said I think our team might be the toughest to gauge in terms of improvement. I wonder how accurate have they been in past seasons?

I don't even read the **** on ESPN anymore. It will continue to stay that way. Gonna be fun to see the Magic proving pundits wrong this season.

They should've just had like 9 teams tied for 4th.

wonder if they will be opening to change their tune within the first half of the season when we've already surpassed 37 wins.... lol

but for real though..... i like the underdog situation... make victory that much sweeter!

I was surprised to see Char, MIA and CHI get so much love.
CHI is just as big of a mystery as us, CHAR and MIA are much worse than last year IMO.

As an American living in the UK, father of a 3 almost 4-year old, I can (sadly) state I do watch Paw Patrol almost every day.

For a long time my Son was asking for, and what I heard was, "Can I watch Papa Troll, Papa Troll." Only when I looked up to see the programme did I realise that it wasn't Papa Troll, but was Paw Patrol.

Unbelievable. I dont know how anyone can take the time to read ESPN anytning. It's terrible. How anyone can sit their and say this team didn't improve personal wise is nuts. Wither it all gels and meshes is another subject but talent wise and coaching wise this team on paper most definitely took a step forward to atleast warrant a better projection.

I'm not sure I disagree to be honest. We certainly made a lot of changes but I'm not totally convinced were actually better.

you wanna know what's funny?

knicks makes the biggest jump in their projection by 8 wins. though comments are dominated by angry knicks fans accusing epsn of hate and anti-ny bias and saying they set it up this way to get clicks  that team is gonna implode yo!
