Size matters.

There isn't that much difference between them in terms of size. Wade is only a bit bigger. It's not like we are comparing Westbrook to LeBron here.

He has at least 30 pounds on Westbrook, that's a pretty sizeable difference.

We're talking prime Wade, he was probably 225-230, that's pretty big for 6'4 player. Marcus Smart is that size and is slow as molasses in comparison.

It's close. Westbrook is a straight line athletic freak. He doesn't have the type of body control of Wade but he is pretty athletic in a straight line drive.

I've never seen Wade listed as anything more than 220 lbs.

Used to think Westbrook, but watched some old Wade games. It's Wade, his change of direction and body control>>>>>> Westbrook. D Rose was more athletic than both

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

I think in terms of raw explosiveness, power, and energy Russ has him beat, but I might value Wade's fluidity and body control a bit more. It's a tough call but I think Westbrook has the advantage in more categories.

This is a weird question. I wanted to say 'Westbrook, duh,' but then I thought about how silly prime Wade was. As good as Russ is when he drives, it damned well seemed like Wade got to the hoop whenever he wanted, from any spot on the floor. I'm not sure how much that has to do with his crazy ballhandling skill v. athleticism. He had/has so many moves in his midrange arsenal: the triple-threat pump fake, the high post spin move, the euro step. Westbrook doesn't have as many ways to keep the defense guessing. I guess I'm leaning more towards Russ as the pure athlete, but Wade's skill/quickness combo was unreal.

I wouldn't say Westbrook has more power than Wade, if by power you mean strength.

Yeah, probably the wrong term. Meant the power of his movements if that makes sense, like just how powerfully he gets up and his burst down the court. Wade is definitely stronger.

Westbrook is more explosive athlete to me. For Wade you would have to make a coordination, etc. argument

He has about 3 inches of wingspan, 2 inches of standing reach, and at least 20 pounds. That's the reason he's so much more effective as a finisher at the rim, because he's a bigger and stronger guy, and that's way more glaring than the straight line speed difference.

He was drafted at 217 and bulked up after. Before he lost weight headed into the 2014 season he said he was 239 and hovering around 235-240 for years.

He's also a solid 2 inches taller than WB and has super long arms. Not saying he wins but it's close enough for me to not be able to make the call.

Early Wade 04-08' was the most coordinated attacker I can remember. Against those Pistons teams he would weave thru the lane without looking jerky and even when he lost control he still throw up a circus layup that almost went down. I prefer Wade's grace over Westbrook's explosiveness.
