This x1000... I just want him out there playing.

With that said, we really need a backup defender that can step in when he inevitably does pick up an injury and misses a few games. We can't expect to plug in Jeremy Lamb or Aaron Harrison and have the same results.

Lamb has actually rebounded the ball very well.

He obviously doesn't play with the same kind of intensity or energy as MKG does though.

Not even close.

Yeah he rebounds well, but his defense is pretty crappy. We'd miss MKG's defense way more than his rebounding, since we already basically rebound by committee anyway.

This line of discussion is why I wanted to keep CLee. It's too bad that he obviously wanted one last shot at being a starter somewhere, but completely understandable. He would have been the perfect MKG injury insurance. Barring another mid-season trade I'm not sure that the team is going to have a good answer as is.

Fingers crossed for a healthy MKG season.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

CDR was actually good when he played here. We're bringing back Gary Neal. He was a contributor one season for the Spurs so hes good, just like Belinelli.

So Belinelli only had one good season? Like have you looked up his stats at all?

On topic though, MKG's health is obviously very important next season. The only plus of his injuries so far is he has a lot less miles on his body than if he'd stayed healthy.

Hes had some solid seasons as a role player, but only one or two where his production was anything to get excited about. His track record is certainly better than Neals. I was joking.

Observer has an article on MKG today, nothing groundbreaking, just some quotes from MKG.

Nothing super important in that article, but one quote from MKG excites me. When asked about his shooting he responded with "You'll see this season," he said of shooting. "I don't want to brag on myself."

I think that really says his shooting is getting there. We'll see him shoot a lot more threes this year and continue to take mid range shots. Should really open up his game for a breakout year. If he can stay healthy, I think he's a candidate for most improved player.

Crazy small sample size, but seeing him splash in threes and play confidently on offense in those 7 games last season was enough to convince me that he's going to average 13-15ppg next season and that the three-ball is there for him when he needs it. I mean, those 7 games came AFTER a shoulder injury that I expected would destroy his offseason progress.

It's been 5+ months since the 2nd surgery, and he's got 3 more till the start of the season to continue working and you know he will be in the gym for all of those doing everything possible to make himself a better player. Man, I'm stoked.

I am so looking forward to seeing MKG play with this team.

My one disappointment from last year was that we didn't get to see him with Lin.

didn't Lin shout "I love you, MKG" after the big win against Cavs?
.... a line up with Zeller/Marvin/MKG/Batum/Lee/Lin will be so versatile both offensively/defensively...each can defend 2-3 positions and all above average defenders...
Hi Clutchie, I love you... :kiss

A lineup with Lin and Lee is never going to happen and is pretty significantly inferior to our starting lineup next season.

on paper, Kemba is a better player than Lee or Lin, but he is not significantly superior to either of them...
IMO, if you replace Kemba with Lin, your starting lineup would not miss much... however, we will never know... there was only one game in such situation last season...well, it is just my opinion...
Hi Clutchie, I love you... :kiss
