So OKC gets 2 lottery picks, one Huge BRK pick, guaranteed top 2 pick, and their own pick anywhere from 8-14. Plus Jaylen Brown number 3 overall this year ? Too much, extension or not that is massive overpay, not buying this.

Not to mention the 18 Nets pick, in the event of a lockout for 17-18 the Nets could pick in the same draft order as 17. Forget about it, we got those picks for a reason, and that reason is we pick those players and turn them into superstars.

EDS, back in the day, was one of the flashier companies I dealt with. That said, I only had conversations with them on a few days per year.

One of their senior execs was probably their most prominent guy -- after, of course, Ross Perot, Mort Myerson, and perhaps also the guys whose Iranian adventures were covered in the Ken Follett book On Wings of Eagles. One day, he told me that he was leaving the company, and I was only the third person he'd told, and the first person outside the company.

He had little motivation to tell me this, and even less to mislead me. It didn't actually happen. Even so, to this day I think he was sincere. Something just happened to change his mind.

Part of me thinks those two teams are still waiting on what OKC does with Westbrook if he doesn't sign his extension there. The other part of me thinks the same.

Fat pill to swallow when it wouldn't even make Boston title favorites. KG was a more impactful player, was acquired for far less, and immediately put the C's at the top of the food chain. To make these trades and still need really good luck to win it all while fully emptying the cupboard? No thanks.

Extensions would change the math of course but even then, Horford is getting older and both he and Griffin have checkered injury histories.

There will be other trade opportunities, especially after the Nets pick is top 3 again.

We should be hoarding everything to eventually get Anthony Davis anyway.

Alright guys. Well what I posted here is now being screen grabbed and posted on Twitter. I apologize to vast majority who are great about it, but I'm not putting this stuff on Twitter for a reason. It isn't strong enough for that as I have explained before.

I don't know why there hasn't been more buzz about Cousins getting traded. You don't load up on Centers like the Kings have if you aren't thinking of moving Cousins. I guess people just got tired of speculating about it. The writing has been on the wall for a long time though. With the 76'ers having swap rights to their pick and still looking to struggle and Chicago owning their pick if it's outside the top 10 the time to tank is now.

I don't know why there hasn't been more buzz about Cousins getting traded. You don't load up on Centers like the Kings have if you aren't thinking of moving Cousins. I guess people just got tired of speculating about it. The writing has been on the wall for a long time though. With the 76'ers having swap rights to their pick and still looking to struggle and Chicago owning their pick if it's outside the top 10 the time to tank is now.

I don't think the cost will be appreciably different this summer compared to next. They're going to want the same assets, i.e. short-term contracts, a decent prospect or two, and a high draft pick. It makes sense for both Boston and Sacramento to do it now when most people are really confident that the Nets pick will be top 4 at worst and Sacramento can still get a high pick of their own with Philly likely to struggle. If they wait until next summer with the CBA likely to be in flux and a possible lockout looming they might not be able to trade him until after the season starts when he's an expiring. You guys are going to want to see more than half a season of Cousins before you decide to give up valuable assets AND then have to pay him a 30+ million dollar extension on top of that.
