4 is available. It's his number in High School. Or 44, number in his Twitter/IG handle.

Westbrook / Thomas
Bradley
Crowder / Green
Griffin / Pierce
Horford / Olynyk

If that's our nine-man rotation :o

There's four current all stars, an all defensive first team player, and a former finals MVP, most likely playing the least amount of minutes.

Think the Truth can turn back the clock?

I would never count him out. If hes on this team, he's a backup playing no more than 20 minutes, probably closer to 15. I think he's capable of that for one more year. Time will tell!

I'm pretty surprised he didn't call quits (thought I read somewhere he'd be playing next season?). Cause his last season wasn't really solid, and I doubt he can upgrade his role in LAC which gives me more hope of him coming over. Maybe just for the MLE and we give a conditional second rounder whom they never convert. LOL

I doubt he can give a contending team still something though. This is not easy to say for me.

Would be nuts if this goes down, Pierce alone would cause the Garden to go nuts but, two stars too...Garden might be louder than the first big 3 game.

Until he has built a championship contender, Danny will never be done looking for potential big trades.

I can guarantee you that article is full of crap and not just because of what I have heard.

Hear is how you know it is bogus: Ainge never said that quote. There is no chance he talked openly about other players that aren't on the Celtics and their contracts. That is a serious violation. No one would do that on the record for fear of the backlash from the league.

The actual quote pulled from the Bulpett article was by another GM and not Danny himself.
According to the GM of another club that would have interest in the two, it is a near impossible situation at the present time.

"You'd have to give up a ton to get either one of those guys, and maybe when you look at it, it's something you'd do," he said. "But you really can't, because there's no guarantee you can keep them after this season. You can't take that kind of chance. And with the way the cap is going and the money that's out there, it makes no sense for guys like that to sign an extension now. They'd be costing themselves too much money."

I can't believe the mothereffing TRUTH with his 85% TS in clutch situations(taken from 2002-2006 82games.com) was on the bench for the last play. I'm going back to being a Wiz/BKN/LAC fan.

Not to mention the 18 Nets pick, in the event of a lockout for 17-18 the Nets could pick in the same draft order as 17. Forget about it, we got those picks for a reason, and that reason is we pick those players and turn them into superstars.

I totally agree. That's a HUGE price for Westbrook considering Smart and Brown were lottery picks themselves and we toss in the BRK pick too...We aren't winning this trade.

The Griffin one I sort of get...but still, Brooklyn is set up to be the 90s Clippers and may be in the lottery every year. But Griffin is worth a high pick and we toss in a former 17 pick in Rozier to make them do the deal. Danny will also just find a way to draft his annual point guard again the next year anyway.

Yeah exactly and if it was Ainge who said then this reporter did him a huge disservice, because it was obviously said off the record.

I guess people just got tired of speculating about it. The writing has been on the wall for a long time though. With the 76'ers having swap rights to their pick and still looking to struggle and Chicago owning their pick if it's outside the top 10 the time to tank is now.

Cousins will be a lot cheaper next off season, prob best to wait til then.

I don't think the cost will be appreciably different this summer compared to next. They're going to want the same assets, i.e. short-term contracts, a decent prospect or two, and a high draft pick. It makes sense for both Boston and Sacramento to do it now when most people are really confident that the Nets pick will be top 4 at worst and Sacramento can still get a high pick of their own with Philly likely to struggle. If they wait until next summer with the CBA likely to be in flux and a possible lockout looming they might not be able to trade him until after the season starts when he's an expiring. You guys are going to want to see more than half a season of Cousins before you decide to give up valuable assets AND then have to pay him a 30+ million dollar extension on top of that.

I agree with you, the problem is that Vlade and Vivek are running one of the most dysfunctional franchises in pro sports, not just the NBA but all sports.

I dont trust Russell Westbrook at all, especially not for the price. The only way we could resign him is if we won the nba finals next year. Not get there, but win it. Then there's no way he leaves. But man, that's an awfully big risk. I dont like the risk/reward situation that presents itself here by gutting our inventory. We inherit the risk of them walking. It's not like they're on bad teams like Demarcus Cousins or Kevin Love. These two guys are wanting to test the market when they're already on competitive teams in the West. That's too dangerous for me to want to consider. I'm honestly worried we blow our chance on this by rolling the dice and it's all or nothing. I hate those odds. 50/50 odds suck with regard to assets retention and loss. That boarders on Big Balls/Stupid territory; Case for either could be made. If this trade goes down with the two of them, We may never know the real story. What if Wyc was the meddler in all this? What if he demanded Danny to pull the trigger and blow everything on these two, and then they walk after we lose in the finals or the ECF? Do you think Wyc would say it's his fault for meddling? I'm not so sure about that. Wyc may point to danny and say, your gonna be the fall guy. That would be diabolical. The reality is, we would never know who really pushed for this. Just food for thought.

I have no problem posting this, because it isn't news of any sort, but the Kings have no intention of trading Cousins. He is their franchise guy and most marketable player as they move in to their new building. Everyone you talk to in the entire organization is on the same page that he is not being traded. And, trust me, it is rare to find even 2-3 people who are in the same page with that group. Although it is getting much better than the last couple of years.

Yeah the Westbrook one kinda seems like Danny's Justise Winslowing it a bit

Gimme that Griffin trade all day though, best of both worlds. Trading for a superstar, and holding on to all the young guys and 17 pick, good combo of win now and internal development. Should do the Griffin trade, then see where we're at mid-season. If we're a powerhouse, hold steady. If not, then explore a deadline Westbrook trade or something to that effect. Griffin/IT/Horford/Crowder/Bradley gives us great 1,2,3,4,5 options on offense, and we'd still maintain all of our main pieces that contribute to our stifling defense.

IT/Smart
Bradley/Green/Brown
Crowder/Brown/Pierce
Griffin/Jerebko/Pierce
Horford/Olynyk

I'd rather try that squad out first before giving up everything for Westbrook
