Misconception about Dragic's contract
I keep seeing some fans refer to Dragic as a max player, and that's wrong. The contract he signed (~ $86 mil/5 years) is nowhere near the max he was eligible for (~ $113 mil/5 years).
He's basically earning ~ $5 mil less per year than his max.

What was the max that other teams could offer him?

Saudades.

~ $84 mil/4 years
But I don't think anyone was prepared to max him out.

Re: Misconception about Dragic's contract
So his max with the Heat averages at 22,87 per year over 5 years. His max with other teams 21,06 over 4 years. He'll get on average 17,2 per year for 5 years. Close to 4 mil per year less than what other teams could offer him and more than 5 mil less per year than the Heat could offer.

Re: Misconception about Dragic's contract
He was neverin danger of being a "max" player, but I said he was still overpaid considering what Bledsoe and Lowry got

Lowry was signed a year earlier before contracts started getting crazy. Anyways, he'll probably be making $10mil more than Dragic by this time next year as long as he doesn't chit the bed this season.
Also, Bledsoe has a really hard time staying on the court. All those knee surgeries are scary.
I personally think Dragic got "paid"...not under nor over.

please.
Goran and Max should not be in the same sentence.

Re: Misconception about Dragic's contract
I wont judge Goran on last year at all, This year he doesn't have to defer to wade or bosh and or worry about his family... if he put up all star numbers then we are getting him for his value....
Im sure he will have a breakout year --- He will have the ball 90% of the time, and don't have to share it with Wade... that makes a huge difference

I don't like this agenda.
We are a team and we're talking about how happy we'll be to see a second tier PG have the ball 90% of the time.
It's a sign of how far we've slipped in one off-season.
Even a superstar doesn't have that.

HIF He is a point guard who job is to mainly set the offense up... When I say 90 percent of the time, I mean bringing the ball up the court if we are not breaking... that's what he supposed to do, in the same breath I expect Hassan to have majority of the rebounds because that is what centers do

No-one should have the ball 90% of the time. You're suggesting that ALL of the other players should have it 10% in total.
A PG should be setting people up not bouncing the ball into the floor for 90% of the time.
MOVE the BALL.

MOVE the BALL.
What I am suggesting is that in a sequence is that he touches the ball 90 percent of the time... maybe that should be cleared.... sometimes when he was with wade he would not even touch the ball for 2 or 3 possessions

Yeah i think wade really dragged Dragic down. You'll see him return to a much more efficient guard without wade bogging down the offense so much

There was one guy that started a thread here about a month ago about how word around the summer league was scouts, Heat officials, media, etc. anticipate Dragic contending for the SCORING TITLE this upcoming season. Gee, I wonder how much share of shots will go to Dragic?

Scoring title? I don't think scoring comes that easy for Dragic. He just doesn't have a dominating offensive game to win a scoring title. I could see a 18-20ppg season though.
