Speed from the leadoff position is a old school theory, the only thing that's important is getting on base. You're not going to try and steal bases with all your best hitters due up anyways. Revere isn't a particularly good leadoff hitter because he rarely takes a walk.

You don't need speed when you have 5-6 guys batting behind a decent OBP guy like Bautista who is going to run into quite a few himself.

Revere wasn't a great leadoff hitter as mentioned as while he has a decent batting average almost never took walks. Having a speed guy or two on the bench like Pompey or Upton is far more valuable.

The leadoff spot comes up once per game. We had Revere here last year and even he did not have a green light with the amount of power in the lineup behind him.

I consider myself fortunate to have missed the latest Dickey implosion.

I will be so happy to see him (and Thole) gone next year.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

The nice thing about day games is that when they are bad, I can never see them.

Hopefully Dickey isn't doing that Buehrle thing where his career finally falls off a cliff after the AS break.
