That's a nice thought, but that's not how things usually work. Most of the time, if you're waiting for young players to develop, you end up waiting a really long time. There's a fair chance that none of our young guys ever develops beyond the quality bench/marginal starter level.
I think our fans are drunk on Whiteside, and have fooled themselves into believing that due to our luck with Hassan, every 2nd round pick, undrafted free agent, D-Leaguer, and NBA reject we pick up, is magically going to defy the odds and become an all-star. The reality is that you're lucky if one or two of them turn into Udonis Haslem.
