Interesting that the Nets are not restricting their focus to Brooklyn. They're making a new push using JLin to try to corner the fan market in other boroughs like Queens.

I have no idea how the Knicks and Nets fan bases are distributed in NYC metro area..
I suspect that there might be more Knicks fans than Nets fans even in Brooklyn...
Queens has a bigger Chinatown (flushing) than Brooklyn...

Arrr... I really want to come to watch his game next year.
Hope he can still keep his starting position that time.

Maybe now that they're marketing Queens they'll realize that fans come from everywhere if the product is good.

New Jersey, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, why not?

Brooklyn-born boxer Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi wore a JLin jersey for his weigh in for tonight's fight at Barclays.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nba/post/_/id/22892/jarrett-jack-says-haha-tweet-was-never-about-jeremy-lin

Jarrett Jack says 'Haha' tweet was never about Jeremy Lin

“What would even be funny about that? I think J-Lin is damn good. I thought he was tremendous in Houston when they were hitting all those 3-pointers, and then in Charlotte, he played his ass off during the playoffs.

Jack didn’t think anything of it, but soon he received a call from his brother telling him he had created a social media firestorm.

There are more Knick fans in New York City than Nets fans, period.

Hell, even when we were the New Jersey Nets, there were more Knick and Sixer fans in the state than Nets fans

this franchise is one of the sorriest, most pathetic clubs in the history of pro sports. :nonono:

I hope Nets' PR would not market Lin much and let his games do the talking. If Lin could help Nets beat Knicks in MSG, the market would be much much bigger than a few communities.

Overnight Lin became the face of the franchise...some people might not like it but I think it's a good thing.
We all know Lopez is a better basketball player than Lin but Lopez doesn't really have star power. Getting Lin was very smart not just because of what we need on the court(Desperately needed a good PG) but also off the court this could be a huge gain for us. Plus I really like where Lin's head is at... he seems like a very good human being.
As a Nets fan I hope Lin succeeds here in BKN and hopefully it will revitalize the franchise and the city!

no matter how you explained to them, how much sense it makes, how nice how humble a person Jack is... some people have made up their mind and Jarret Jack is a racist forever... their fandom about Lin is never about Lin, but a story of an Asian underdog that fits their agendas... they could ignore all the facts, even if you were Jeremy Lin who told them what the fact really is, they would not believe you...

although Jack has never been a star player in this league, he is always well respected by other players, a classy guy...
I liked Jack even when he was in college, he won me a few more bucks for my sweet 16 bracket
