I understand what you're saying Dan. In the 70's and 80's Liverpool were THE team but recently they are not seen as serious contenders for the EPL let alone Europe. They have definitely drop out of the "big teams" in England and are now seen as one of the group fighting for 4th to 8th.

Klopp has been interested in a young Leicester FB who is really good. Ben Chillwell. I see him starting in the prem before the end of the season. He's just unlucky that Fuchs had such a fantastic season last year. Really great talent.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Hard to take much/anything out of these glorified training sessions....but both squads wanna look good here in the US. I'm sure there will be SOME level of seriousness to the game.

How was it? I watched the game. Pretty typical for a pre-season friendly.

It was alot of fun. I was actually right at the corner where they kicked in the winner. Great seats. Would liked a 4-2 score or something better...if your gonna lose a friendly, at least get some goals. Felt like we had one disallowed. But hey.....preseason. It was just great to get out there and see the boys.

Liverpool smash Barcelona 4-0 in their last preseason friendly.

Sure it's preseason, but Mane looked superb.

To be fair, Mignolet is a really good goalkeeper.

Juanma Garcia? Anyone have any Intel on him? He's supposedly signed with us.

I was out of town, and so I only got to watch highlights. MAN....some nice goals.

I personally didn't care for Klopps Piggy-back ride. A little too far IMO. I love the celebrating, and his leap, but you could see it irked Arsenal, and they almost punched us on our Arse.

We gotta stay focused. Good win....but if we're gonna take our foot of the gas like that in game freakin' 1 of the league, Im a little worried.

But hey.....we got a great win there. Some hard games at the start. If we can just scrape a few more points over the next 4-5 games, I think we will be in good position

The 2nd half was such a blast to watch. A far cry from the first . This team is going to score a lot of goals. Mane is so quick with the ball. Coutinho was brilliant.

Both teams had glaring weaknesses in defence but were a joy to watch on attack.

Yeah...I think our defense will be exposed alot this season. Same with Arsenal.

We did have a couple defenders get injured about 3-4 weeks ago...forcing us to sign that young guy (sorry names escape me). So perhaps things will shore up a little better once everyone is healthy. Even still....I don't think we're particularly strong defensively. And that's putting it nicely.
