To All Those Fans Who Want The Clippers To Move To Seattle
Let me ask you this:
Why does everybody want the Clippers - out of all the teams in the NBA - to relocate to Seattle and become the Supersonics?
Just because Clay Bennett stole the Supersonics away from Seattle does not give you the right to demand the Clippers be a casualty in order to right a past wrong that had nothing to do them. It's not like the Clippers are completely responsible for the Supersonics moving to Oklahoma City and becoming the Thunder. But the things I'm reading on Twitter goes to show you that Laker fans will go to whatever depths necessary in order to "protect the shield."
The loss of the Supersonics is on Bennett alone - don't try to turn the Clippers into a sacrificial lamb for your own benefit.

They should move to downtown Long Beach at the site of the Long Beach Arena:
https://lbpost.com/images/addison/arena.jpg
Then build the arena like the Dubai boat hotel:
http://web-images.chacha.com/images/Gallery/6301/15-crazy-things-found-in-dubai685310013-nov-8-2013-1-600x450.jpg
Its right in the marina and a perfect design for a team that calls itself the Clippers. They could incorporate the mural from the old arena into the base of the new one. (As if it's the water under the boat.)
They could use the upper floors for the front office and also rent out space for businesses/hotel/condos/etc.
Also, the location has the 710 freeway and the Blue Line light rail running right up to it. Plus the Vincent Thomas bridge to bring people over from the Palos Verdes area.

So Chuck's gonna change his number from 213 to 310?

Besides insecurity, can any of you guys give me one legitimate reason why Laker fans desperately want the Clippers to move out of LA? And by that, I don't mean just leaving Staples. They want our team to leave for another city. Why? If you're a Laker fan reading this, pleeeeeease. Tell us.

I completely understand why the Lakers would want them out of Staples but I think they're idiots for wanting them out of LA altogether. The rivalry is good for both organizations.

Although I could see it be 818 when Ballmer sees the NIMBYism on the westside. I'm telling ya, NOHO has access to tons of mass transit and plenty of space for not only an arena but outside development as well.

Re: Clippers Looking for New Home on the Westside (Hat Tip to WammyGiveaway)
It makes zero sense for Ballmer to spend $2B on the Los Angeles Clippers, only to move them to a smaller market.
He could've overpaid for another small market team and probably only spent $1B, if he wanted to move a team to Seattle.

It will be good for The Clippers to get their own place.

Re: Clippers Looking for New Home on the Westside (Hat Tip to WammyGiveaway)
It will be good for the Clippers to get their own arena because it would be dope in and of itself. But I don't feel like we have to move out because another team that rents there has won championships there and we haven't.
Seems like we have the capital to make this happen. Let's get it done. Brand New state of the art stadium would be cool somewhere on the westside. Samo/ Century City Area would be legit AF but I'm sure there's a whole lot of red tape in getting that kinda thing done over there.
inb4 the 405 NEVER moves ever again....like it ever did

Wait, what? The Clippers don't own their practice facility? Then who does?

It was reported to be included in the sale, so that part is a little confusing.

Re: Clippers Looking for New Home on the Westside (Hat Tip to WammyGiveaway)
I for one hope it happens. And Ballmer has the scratch to make it happen. The land itself would be a prudent investment. Couple that with another sports arena that they own and the team will be worth almost as much as the Lakers.
The funny thing about Lakers fans, if Donald Sterling (who I despise with all my fiber) hadn't purchased those properties from Dr. Buss, the Buss family would have never had the capital necessary to buy the team and the team might not be the iconic franchise they've become. Buss then recommended Sterling to get the Clippers.
LA should have two teams, the same way NYC should.

Apparently, the Sterlings still own the practice facility.

Re: Clippers Looking for New Home on the Westside (Hat Tip to WammyGiveaway)
I live west of the 405 freeway -- I'd love for the Clippers to play their home games in my backyard, not just for the convenience of getting to the games, but because it would finally feel like the Clippers had their own identity.
The the Staples Center has been cool, but it's in Downtown LA, which is most famous for having the biggest homeless population in America. If the Lakers wanna make that part of town their permanent residence...let them, they can have it. The Clippers need to commit to the coast and build their new arena on the beach -- pick a beach, any beach.
If the Clippers had their own arena, on the beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the level of prestige that would come with that would be second-to-none.

You sound like a typical 'west of the 405 resident'.. DTLA is on the cusp of becoming an amazing area in a couple more years. I say build the new arena on the other side of DTLA. Little Tokyo, Arts District, Chinatown, etc. Hell even Hollywood would be better than the westside- which would be a traffic nightmare and more than likely an super expensive experience
