What does everyone think about letting Beasley start at PF? Personally I wan to see him come off the bench at the end/start of quarters to get some good mins in against 2nd unit big men where he can hopefully have a little easier of a defensive responsibility. I feel if we put this guy in situations where we can cover up for his weaknesses he will be a solid 3rd scoring option for us all year.

Damn this Rockets team tryna outscore every team with their free agent signings.. re-upped Harden but signed Anderson and Gordon.
Not sure where the defense is gonna come from except for Pat Beverley.

Without major trade. This is going to be the training camp roster. I see DMo is entering the same situation as Lowry. Morey is going to get one of his buddy to offer DMo an under market value offer sheet and he'll just going to match that.

C - Capela, Nene, Onuaku
PF - Anderson, DMo, Beasley, Harrell, Wiltjer
SF - Ariza, Dekker, Brewer
SG - Harden, Gordon, McDaniels
PG - Beverley, Prigioni, Payton, Taylor

Harrell and Dekker are both looking good in summer league. I actually would like to cut Beasley so we can give more playing time to develop them.

Yes. The cut Beasley movement is spreading, I thought I was the only one lol I'd rather bring back Terry (vet leadership shooting and some depth) or keep Wiltjer for the 15th roster spot instead of Beasley.

That's why they signed Prigioni for locker room leadership. Wiltjer will be cut and play for Vipers.
I never like the Beasley signing.

Yeah, he's definitely bulked up!

And we can go ahead and officially count Super=Beasley on the roster after his 1.4M became fully guaranteed today.

Assuming we re-sign D-Mo..Which 3 players get cut? Taylor. WIltjer. Payton? Are we OK with just Bev and Prig as our PG's or are Harden and Gordon good enough ball handlers and passers to negate that.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Those three guys aren't signed to anything they agreed in principle to a deal if they earn a spot

what seed you see the rockets getting I was thinking similar to last year 8 seed now I'm thinking like 11 or 12

I don't understand the signing of prigioni does not make any sense hes 39 and not good ... morey is garbage

call me crazy but baesley is the 4th most talented on this roster behind harden Anderson Gordon

best case: 5th (when everyone stay healthy)
most likely: 7th
worst case: 10th

Prigioni is basically for locker room leadership
some people have negative energy when they don't play
Prigioni will show them he will always be positive
supporting the team on the bench
ready to play when in the game

"Talented" maybe. But as far as being actually good, he's not even close.

hmm it doesn't look like you are replacing dwight? Does that mean you guys (and the management) feel capela is good enough to be a starter?

I believe in this team.

He may not be ready for 30ish minutes every night but I'm 100% sure he's ready to start. On/off numbers have us better with Clint than we were with Dwight last year, he was really good. Nene is a good 15-20 minute center as well. So between he, and Clint's 20-27 minutes theres probably less than 10 minutes a night for lineups with Dmo or Harrel at the five. I think wing depth and backup point guard are much more pressing needs

I think don't be surprised if We get Kostas Kofus back in any deal for Gay. I think We see Nene as the primary backup at the 4/5 but in a limited role during the regular season. With his injury history and Harrel is still not ready for a major role Morey probably is still lookin for a backup 5.Nene minutes need to be kept at 23 to 25 a night till the playoffs start.

No think we see him as 3/4 as a backup in a situational role.I think right now the 4 position is Anderson starting and Nene as his backup.

This team is extremely tough to call imo. I mean the roster is fairly ugly but they really had some serious underperformers last year.

I could see them winning anywhere from 36 to 48 games, seriously

I think KK is a good backup. But we signed Nanu to a 3 year fully guaranteed deal and will probably sign DMo so we might not have rotation minutes or even a roster spot for KK.

Interestingly here's the Rivals top 20 of 2007 high school players where Koufos as #16 overall in #3 in centers after Love and D.Jordan:
1. Michael Beasley
2. Eric Gordon
3. Derrick Rose
4. OJ Mayo
5. Kyle Singler
6. Kevin Love
7. Bill Walker
8. DeAndre Jordan
9. Donte Green
10. JJ Hickson
11. James Harden
12. Anthony Randolph
13. Jerryd Bayless
14. Nick Calathes
15. Austin Freeman
16. Kosta Koufos
17. Patrick Patterson
18. Nayal Koshwal
19. Chandler Parsons
20. Craig Brackins
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
