hell if we are gonna give up on Puig for nothing, why not at least make it easy for him not to move and send him down the free way to the angels? they need a corner outfielder and we can pick up Ji-Man Choi as a lefty pinch hitter. hell the value difference is like trading in a BMW M5 for a Kia Soul, but better than sending the beemer down to the junk yard!
ehhhhh f it.

This was a clown show... No excuse for the way it was handled. 'Headcase' or not, Puig is still a major piece of this franchise. You respect him by letting him know a trade may be in the works, but you don't dump him in the minors if you can't trade him... Or rather, if you do, you give him some idea of the plan... Like, take it easy down there and rehab, work on your mechanics, and we'll call you up when we're prepping for the wild card...
So let's hope the latter happened and this all blows over... Because this was a pretty big dent to the image the Execs have built over the last couple years.

What's worse is that this news has been out for over 12 hours and none of the beatwriters/ twitter heads have broken any news or leaks about it.

The longer it goes without an explanation, the more it just seems vengeful (imo at least).

I want to say...well, maybe this should have been done a while ago and this is worth the investment but that would make it seem like they gave a damn about Puig when reports were that they were trying to trade him at all costs.

Unreal.

Thank you for some clarity.

I certainly hope getting rid of Yasiel adds some chemistry to this ball club.
And to the extent that a word like chemistry actually matters and ends up in our stat sheets and win columns, I hope that new found chemistry makes us winners....

Because my goodness he was not playing poorly enough to deserve this.

and I hope the team does not jump the gun. Reddick is a free agent and no guarantee he will return, and with Utley's contract set to expire, Kendrick could return to second and that is not considering Turner's pending FA status. having Puig in the back pocket would not be the worst thing to have, considering the chance where we are outbidded for Turner and Utley has either a catastrophic regression or accident to end his career, we would need to have Kendrick AND a corner OFer. it would make little difference if we trade him undervalued in August through the wavers or trade him towards the end of off season after we set our roster for 17. he turns 26 after the winter and he would still be plenty young with great potential on relatively cheap contract for his upside even if he only maximizes 75% of that promise.
ehhhhh f it.

Claim on Puig

It doesn't mean that we'll lose him since he was put on revocable waivers. Right now, the Dodgers can either work out a trade with the claimant team or just pull him back off waivers and possibly add him to the expanded roster for the postseason drive. Then, he will likely be traded in the offseason.

Yeah, but it just sort of hit me that it's kind of the end of an era... So much promise unfulfilled. At the end of the day, Puig's gone and that's a little tough to get my head around.
