Re: Clippers Sign Alan Anderson
certainly i do but that doesn't disqualify what i think doc is going to do, which is play raymond felton few minutes. most backup units will more than likely be speights/bass/johnson/crawford/rivers. when doc decides one of speights/bass/johnson makes a minor mistake and doesn't deserve to be on the court, felton will come in. but whatever the case i think that adds up to minutes that are few and far in between.

You do realize Doc will probably run a 3 guard bench lineup of Felton/Austin/Jamal with Bass and Speights, right? I can totally see it happening.
Yeah I can see that, but with Wes or Luc instead of Speights, settling as the usual bench rotation in the end. And I think, if you're gonna play Jamal and not stagger the starters, that's probably the best option for this roster.

Re: Clippers Sign Alan Anderson
Well if the team gets a lot of blowouts then that will open up minutes for everyone lol
I think there was some understandable impatience with the team. You don't know which minimum guys will be available when the dust settles and which ones you can get. So if they knew they could get Felton and Bass for the minimum it might have changed the choices of signing someone like Speights also, maybe Jamal, but it seems like the players opinion and desire to have him back was part of what played into that. It's never easy to predict, so I can understand, but it might not be a terrible idea to make some roster balancing moves as the season progresses.
I think the bench needs some more efficient shooters / scorers and a guy to be a defensive presence. Of course ideally you should be building the bench with the vision of your playoff rotation. I don't trust Johnson to be efficient, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with his injury and also consider his defense. I think Austin can actually push himself to be a 53-54% TS and 105+ Ortg guy which is not bad, whether that will happen, well..
I would like a bench lineup of:
Felton / Rivers / Johnson / Bass / Defensive Big
Imagine if that big could be Aldrich? Of course that would mean no Johnson IIRC, so it would be Aldrich and Anderson.
Felton / Rivers / Anderson / Bass / Aldrich
People tend to think that benches need the high scoring individual player, but it's not true. What you need is playmakers, and also finishers, and a lineup like that would have it. I think it's a nice balanced group of bench players.
