I mean, how could it not be Dr J? 1980-81 24.6ppg, 8rpg, 4.4apg, 2.0spg, 1.8bpg, NBA MVP. Fits in perfectly as your starting small forward. Best small forward left, easily, unless you just don't like him as a fit for your team and prefer a different small forward. Anyone else you pick pushes a starter to the bench. You gonna move Curry, Pierce or Robinson to the bench? or you're picking a backup with the All NBA category, which seems like a waste.
But here are my other guesses...you've already said no to Drexler and Gervin
Charles Barkley, other than Dr J, he is the best of the rest. Gives you another PF, so that doesn't make a ton of sense, but he'd immediately start over Rodman, Randolph and Cummings.
Derrick Rose, MVP year. I know you love Rose and you might start him over Curry or move Pierce to the bench or even Pierce to small forward
Patrick Ewing, he is your avatar after all. His 1989 year is ridiculous, but not better than Robinson, so he's off to the bench.
David Thompson, he is good enough to push Pierce to the bench or Pierce to SF. When he was healthy and not on drugs, he was as good as it gets.
Sidney Moncrief, if you decide you want a defensive stopper, he's the best there is.
Bernard King, I'll fight anyone who doesn't recognize how good King was at his best, before he blew his knees up. He'd immediately start at SF.
Russell Westbrook (he's still available, right?), hard to argue with the year he had last year if you want another guard.
And yes, you guessed my next pick for Hoosier.
Sprewell at Sg, pushing Pierce to Sf. Sprewell would definitely fit?
