That doesn't make sense though, the game was going to be broadcast on ESPN, and the Olympics are on NBC. I imagine ESPN would be happy to give some competition.

If I'm a GM or a HC, there's not a chance in hell I play a single one of my "star" or even "solid starter" type players for a second of preseason. I get that fans want to see it and what not, but I'm using every minute of those games to evaluate younger guys, and not risking getting a starter injured.

theres 6 major media corporations over everything. They arent worried about losing money over a preseason game.

I'll just repaste a discussion I am having in another forum about the same thing..

I think it sucks and that both sides are being a little ridiculous. I understand the Chargers stance, but I don't think it is wise to keep him out of camp anylonger. I don't even know that the other players would care much when he gets his bonus money. There was an article today that says a lot of teams will make exceptions of this sort for high draft picks.

The sooner he joins the team, the sooner everyone will forget about it. I'm not sure I expect it to be resolved any time soon though.

I see and agree, they should just compromise and get started on what really matters, which is football.

Do you think the situation could get so bad to the point where Bosa sits out the entire football year and then enters next year's draft? If it came to that, do the Chargers just lose a top 3 pick for nothing? What do you think about his mom's comments on how they should have pulled a Manning on draft night to force the Chargers to have traded him to another team?

I think his mom is being an idiot. I think his parents are just greedy. I mean they get the money one way or another anyway. As much as they seem to want it NOW, makes me think they might be better served to not get the entire amount now.

I don't think there is any way he sits out the whole season. At some point his pay would start getting docked for games missed, and I think one thing we do know is that his family really likes money.

no,it tells you they hope you focus on it because they decided to make it seem important. If they dont tell you,its not news and no one cares. You are only able to react to what someone told you.
I on a logic level, still stand by what I said: that if Bosa aint around when the season starts,he'll be forgotten immediately aside from some SD fans. Its the way of the world.
