I'm halfway through. So far so good.

Yeah, my wife and I are halfway through the season too and we both really like it. It's a blend of so many 80's and 90's movies and TV shows not to mention the much more recent Super 8. One minute you're reminded of ET, the next you're thinking Poltergeist or maybe even X-Files. I love the music (there's some from the 60's and 70's too in addition to all the 80's stuff) but it's using a lot of covers and I almost always prefer the originals. Still, good music is good music.

I like the fact that they are going to wrap up the major mystery this season, the Duffers have promised it won't follow the pattern of The Killing. If they have a 2nd season (which looks likely) they said it will feel more like a sequel than a 2nd season.

So how did you guys like it if you are finished? I thought it was great overall, though I think they could have wrapped it up a little stronger, but I guess tough if you want to leave it kind of open ended for another potential season.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought they did a good job of leaving an avenue to continue down while wrapping up this storyline.

I was very satisfied with the way they wrapped it all up. They left just enough mystery to warrant a second season. The ending probably wasn't quite as strong as the overall show itself but the earlier episodes set a pretty high bar.

There was a thread on the Media Lounge a while back where everyone ranked them. I think that was one of the favorites, along with the one you mentioned (which I rewatched last night).

I believe I liked S1E2 the best, where they ran on treadmills to gain coins and where it went. But 3-4 of them were really good. Actually White Christmas may have been the best...not sure if that one made it to netflix yet since it is season 3. My least favorite was probably the first episode of season 1.

I really liked all of them and I appreciated episode 1 because I thought it was a pretty bold choice. "Yeah, we're going there" is what it basically said to me. I was hooked from then on. Haven't seen White Christmas yet though.

Did you ever see White Christmas? I just rewatched it the other night. What a crazy good episode.

Great to know there will be new episodes that soon...been waiting. Those British shows always take their time. What made me want to watch it again was when deciding whether or not to watch a movie on netflix, someone on the imdb message boards said it was a cross between a Black Mirror and Twilight Zone episode. Not quite as forward thinking as Black Mirror, and maybe more of a cross between that and Hunger Games, but this movie did keep me engaged from start to finish, despite all taking place in one room...good take on human nature...

Anyone watch Mr Robot? Just watched the first season, pretty good. It has some Fight Club feel to it.

Yeah, I watched the first season and kind of felt like I needed to re-watch before starting season 2. I can't remember all the specifics of everything since it's been a year and it's a bit complex so I wanted to get a refresher first...or at least revisit the Wiki - episode reviews. I felt like it would probably be better to marathon the second season after it was done though since it's easier to keep track of everything if you are watching them one right after another instead of waiting a week in between.

No. I watched the first episode and knew they were going to do some "it's in his head!" reveal, which I've heard is basically what it did. I also don't really like the whole "wake up sheeple, you're slaves of corporations!" message coming from a show produced by a subdivision of a multinational media conglomerate...

Dang man, you're even more negative towards entertainment than I am. It's hard for me to actually like a show and stick with it. I'll admit however that this show does tend to get boring at times and I find myself asking later what happened because I was busy doing other unimportant things.

The two most negative guys on the forum. :nonono:

I actually, after much reservation, because I kept hearing new things, started Gotham about a week ago. I'm already through almost all of season one and it's far more interesting than I anticipated.

Haha, I'm hardly negative when it comes to the Suns, I think I lean more towards the optimistic side. When it comes to movies and tv shows though I'm the worst. For example, in Suicide Squad I found myself being the only one laughing out loud at completely unfunny things, I can't name anything specifically right now though...
BTW, Suicide Squad, been looking forward to it for a 4-5 months now and it was just alright in my book.

I know, I was joking regarding the negativity with you guys. I though Suicide Squad was entertaining. I won't call it great, and maybe a little bit of a letdown compared to original anticipation, but after seeing the terrible Rotten Tomatoes score, my expectations were lowered enough to where I enjoyed it.

People pick apart these comic book movies to death though. I enjoy it (or don't) and that's that.

I almost never use rottentomato as a guide on whether a movie is worth paying for, I've always relied on IMDB. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't rottentomato made up of a majority of critics providing their reviews and scores? Whereas the vast majority of IMDB scoring would be from fans. So a negative review from a critic (or critical fan) would weigh much heavier on rottentomato than IMDB.

To me, as a casual movie go-er (I go maybe once every 2-3 months), I've never found the rottentomato all that useful. Anyone have a take on rottentomato v IMDB? Rottentomato is basically telling me to give Suicide Squad a pass and wait for it to come out on Bluray while IMDB is telling me it's worth a watch at the movies.

Haha. I actually tend to be easily contented with entertainment, but there are a few things that I'm peeved by. Mr. Robot hit a few right from the get go, so I just opted out.

I enjoyed the first season of Mr. Robot but the second season has me bored and wanting to drop it. I think I'll just go and watch Marco Polo instead. :D

Suicide Squad was a mess, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Also, Hell or High Water was really good.

Hell or High Water was the best movie I've seen this year. So entertaining. I had fun watching Suicide Squad as well, but yes, it was far from great.
