I think Tramel is a nice guy, but I trust his opinion on basketball about as much as I trust Dion's shot selection.

I thought he was sort of realistic but after I heard that I was like wtf?

I think it all depended on KD staying. Then teams would have had incentive to put us in a tough position to overpay or not like we had with Kanter. But since he did the jerk move to GS and we pulled the Q.O from waiters, teams saw that even his own team doesn't see that much in him

Waiters says he signed with Heat to have fun, not for the money

Translation: Playing basketball is fun and bagging groceries isn't. This was the only was I could continue to play in the NBA. I am a max contract player, but somehow no GMs realize this, so I signed this contract to keep having fun not because it was the money I wanted or deserve!

And I really can't believe the amount of OKC fans who still think Dion's a really good player. Great guy, not good player.

Teams wouldn't touch him because of his horrible locker room presence in cleveland. James jones called him the worst teammate he's ever had. Dion isn't a great guy

Except that's not at all who he was in OKC. He was a great teammate in OKC.

Yeah but apparently that didn't matter. Teams know he'd be likely to revert if he got a deal. I mean hes not a good playear but plenty of equally bad players got much more money

Or they didn't sign him because he's still a bad player?

Equally bad players didn't get more money. He's just really bad.

He was serviceable in the playoffs. I mean guys like sessions or even ryan anderson aren't markedly better. He will probably make the rotation in miami. The price of a rotation player right now is closer to $8m than $2m.

I wouldn't pay waiters either but that's just due to a fundamental disagreement with the value of bench players right now. You can't really argue that he's nothe underpaid relative to guys on his level of production.

His attitude kept him from getting looks in places like philly and NJ who were desperate for reclamation projects like Anthony bennett

He was serviceable for 1 series. So for 2 weeks he was an average player. Yeah, he wasn't signed because he stinks, not his attitude. Everyone loved the kid.

Possibly in okc but around the league everyone knows he's a bad apple. He's not lance stephenson bad, but he's bad. Teams just arent tolerant of that stuff unless you're very young or underpaid for your production

He's been on 2 teams and was a perfect teammate on 1. Maybe its that the Cavs situation sucked at the time and not Dion. Teams can clearly see that much given his time in OKC.

He's just a big risk and his talent isn't worth the potential headache. Otherwise someone carves out $5- $6m if they think he's a rotation upgrade. He doesn't help you on the court but he's an insurance policy for injuries and he's a serviceable backup wing

He's not a big risk. He just isn't good at basketball. That's why he's not making much. Someone would carve out that money if he was an upgrade in the rotation, but he's not. That's what I've been saying for this whole thread. He's in no way a headache and hasn't been for years, the only time he ever was was in a toxic locker room situation.
